When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. (Mt 16:13-16)

Who is Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.  (Jn 1:1,14)

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (Jn 14:16-18)

Who is Jesus Christ?

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:  And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. (Jn 15:26-27)

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (Rm 8:8-10)

Who is Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is the indwelling Spirit of God.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Gal 2:20)

Who is Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is the indwelling Spirit of God.

Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: (Col 1:26-28)

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Let us sum up who Jesus Christ really is according to the Word of God.

7.    Jesus Christ is God with us!
8.    Jesus Christ is Alpha and Omega, the first and the last!

Now let’s talk about who Jesus Christ IS NOT according to scripture.

Jesus Christ IS NOT God the Son as this denotes the recognition of a plurality in the Godhead and is not supported scripturally.

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: (Deut 6:4) Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. (Isaiah 44:6)

The Hebrew word here translated for LORD is the same in all four instances here meaning, according to the -Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary, self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God.  Thus Jesus Christ is the revealed name of the Father in the New Testament.

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: (Acts 2:17) This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. (Acts 2:32-33) Thus Jesus Christ is the revealed name of the Father in the New Testament.

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. (John 10:17-18) Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. (Acts 2:36) Thus Jesus Christ is the revealed name of the Father in the New Testament.
