Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God. The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in things pertaining to God.
Within each one of us is a God given potential either just waiting to be used or waiting to be increased. There isn’t anyone alive that does not have the potential for success in the kingdom of God. The success of witnessing the gospel of Jesus Christ. The success of sharing this glorious gospel with those who are around you.
Even as God created the Earth with the potential for growth even so God created us with the potential for growth. Within each one of us lies the seed of potential. But this seed most be cultivated by you.
Even as the Farmer cultivates the land for growth with tedious labor even so must each one of us cultivate our self for growth. If we are to bear fruit we must plant the seeds and if we are to plant the seeds we must cultivate ourselves that we may bring forth fruit some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
But the process starts with recognizing that within each one of us there lies the potential for growth. The potential to yield fruit and the potential for that fruit to remain. We must begin by breaking up the fallow ground, for there is potential within each one of us. This ground is broken up by hearing and applying the Word of God. But how can one hear without a preacher?
One must submit themselves to the authority of God and the chain of command that God has given to the Church. We must have a Pastor and we must attend church. We must respect and honor our elders, bishops, and leaders. We must submit ourselves one to another. And we must be kingdom minded.
While breaking up our fallow ground in this manner we are sowing to ourselves seeds of righteousness which will break forth into fruit of it’s own. For we are cultivating the ground of which we are planted on. For one to be upon good ground one will have to remove the stones of offense, the roots of bitterness, as well as removing the thorns of cares and deceitful riches.
For those upon the good ground are being rooted and grounded in love, while they are rooting themselves in sound doctrine; growing deep roots that will not be shaken of the various winds of doctrines but will remain as the Cedar tree planted by the water of life within whose fruit will remain.
For within each one of us remains the potential for growth! The potential to plant, to plow, and to cultivate. If we are to reap in mercy we must sow in righteousness. And if we sow in righteousness we will leave the milk behind and go on to strong meat which will be able to save not only ourselves but also those of whom we plant the seeds of righteousness. For every good tree brings forth good fruit. And those on the good ground will produce fruit over time.
However, be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that will he also reap. You will bring forth seed and you will produce fruit, but the question is what kind of seeds are you sowing and what kind of fruit are you growing? Evil communications corrupt good manners.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
There is potential within each one of us to either sow forth in righteousness or to sow forth in unrighteousness, but the choice is yours to make. Let us break up the fallow ground and sow to ourselves in righteousness that we may reap in mercy!!
