Becoming a Vessel unto Honour

The Apostle Paul is instructing Timothy.

2 Timothy 2:19-26
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

This is the key to being part of the Body of Christ. You must Depart from iniquity.

20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

Vessel of Honor

Paul is letting Timothy know that even in a great house there are different types of vessels. He is speaking of people by using the example of vessels. Then he states some are to honor and some to dishonor. Remember first though, he said “Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” This is very much like the parable of the tares and the wheat that Jesus taught. “Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” (Mt 13:24-30)

So after letting Timothy know that even in a great house there are different types of vessels and some to honor, which would be the wheat, and some to dishonor, which would be the tares, he then continues and gives us instruction of how to be a vessel unto honor.

21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

The key was that anyone that names the name of Christ is supposed to depart from iniquity. But Paul also lets Timothy know that not everyone will. That is why some are to honor, which are the wheat, and why some are to dishonor, which are the tares. If you want to be a vessel of honor, purge yourself from iniquity and false brethren. Pray for those who are tares but don’t keep company with them.Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” (1 Cor 15:33) “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” (2 Cor 6:14)

The Apostle Paul continues teaching Timothy what he should do as a teacher.

23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

It is crucial to note that many people oppose themselves. And those that do, the devil can take them captive at his will. The reason why, is because they are not vessels unto honor, because they have not purged themselves from iniquity, and thus begin to oppose themselves when instruction is given because they have not a love of the truth.

The Apostle Paul instructed Timothy toFlee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.That is what we as followers of Jesus Christ should be pursuing. The Apostle Peter gives us instructions to follow as well.

2 Peter 1:3-12
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Again you see that you must depart from iniquity if you name the name of Jesus Christ. Otherwise you are not going to be a vessel of honor, the wheat, but rather a vessel unto dishonor, the tares. The choice is yours. Obedience or disobedience. To love Jesus Christ and keep his commandments or in this case to stay in the Church and sow discord among the people subverting the hearers as you try to sway them to your way of thinking of whom the wheat should avoid as you are part of the congregation of the dead. “The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.” (Pro 21:16)

5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

Giving all diligence to make your calling and election sure! Striving to enter in at the strait gate! Pressing into the kingdom of God! Add to your faith in Jesus Christ and the gospel message of hope, and what allowed you to be born again of which was also given by the Apostle Peter, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38) Add to your faith virtue. Live upright with moral excellence! A “vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.Adding to this virtue knowledge. The knowledge of the Word of God. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Tim 2:15) “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Tim 3:16-17) “Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge. For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips. That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee. Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?” (Pro 22:17-21) “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.” (1 Peter 3:15-16)

6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

Add to your knowledge self control! Keep yourself in the will of God!For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.” (1 Thess 4:3-8) Add to your self control or temperance patience. “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” (Heb 12:14) “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” (James 1:2-4) Add to your patience godliness! The collective whole of the gospel teaching.If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain.” (1 Tim 6:3-6)

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

Add to godliness brotherly kindness!For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.” (Rm 12:4-5) “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.” (1 Cor 12:12-21) “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.” (Eph 5:30) Add to brotherly kindness charity!Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” (Rm 13:10) “Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;” (Rm 12:9-10) “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” (Gal 6:1-2) “And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8)

8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore purge yourself from iniquity and follow after the instructions that you have received and you will notbe barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

I hope this blesses everyone to the understanding that if you name the name of Christ, then depart from iniquity by purging yourself from sin, by applying the Word of God. Otherwise you will become a vessel unto dishonor and a tare among the wheat.

C & C: Understanding: How to Gain Doctrinal Knowledge

Connections and Comparisons is an ongoing weekly series that deals with many scriptures in the Bible, some of which are not commonly addressed. The purpose of this series is to examine the scriptures at hand comparing what is said and looking at the connections within.

Isaiah 28:9-10
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

Isa 28_9-10

These two verses of scripture that you have just read is how the entire Word of God the Bible is set up. This is to whom the Lord God will teach knowledge and to whom the Lord God will “make to understand doctrine”. You must be “weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.” You can not stay a babe in Christ without putting your soul in jeopardy and great peril. For we arethe body of Christ, and members in particular.” (1 Cor 12:27) We are commandedStudy to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Tim 2:15) “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18) “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.” (2 Cor 13:5-6) “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.” (Heb 12:1-3) “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” (Col 4:5-6) This you can not do as a babe in Christ still on the milk of the Word of God!!

A precept is a general rule or commandment to regulate your thoughts and behavior. Therefore you must beweaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

The Word of God is learned by studyingto shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.And this is to whom the Lord God will teach knowledge and to whom the Lord God willmake to understand doctrine” because you are growing “in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

This revealing by the arm of the Lord God will come by learning one commandment upon another commandment, one commandment upon another commandment. It will be learnedline upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little“. Line upon line meaning one verse of scripture upon another verse of scripture from one book of the Bible to another book of the Bible thus laying line upon line then building upon the layer another line upon line, learning this glorious truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ that was afore preached unto Abraham. “And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (Gal 3:8-14)

There is a difference between having knowledge and understanding the knowledge you have as well as understanding how to use the knowledge you have aright in a wise and upright manner. The Pharisees, Sacdducees, Scribes, Elders, and rulers of Israel thought they had understanding of the scriptures and thought they had doctrinal knowledge.

Isaiah 28:13
13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

This took place because the nation of Israel continuously rejected the Word of God and committed whoredoms and played the harlot against their husband until He finally wrote a bill of divorcement. This Judah did see and played the harlot and committed more whoredoms and abominations than Israel.

Jeremiah 3:6-11
6 The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.
11 And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.

2 Kings 17:5-23
5 Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
6 In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
7 For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
8 And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
9 And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
10 And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:
11 And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:
12 For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.
13 Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
16 And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
18 Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
19 Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
20 And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
21 For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.
22 For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;
23 Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.

Ezekiel 23:1-49
1 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
3 And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.
4 And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.
5 And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours,
6 Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses.
7 Thus she committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chosen men of Assyria, and with all on whom she doted: with all their idols she defiled herself.
8 Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruised the breasts of her virginity, and poured their whoredom upon her.
9 Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.
10 These discovered her nakedness: they took her sons and her daughters, and slew her with the sword: and she became famous among women; for they had executed judgment upon her.
11 And when her sister Aholibah saw this, she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in her whoredoms.
12 She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men.
13 Then I saw that she was defiled, that they took both one way,
14 And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion,
15 Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity:
16 And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea.
17 And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them.
18 So she discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness: then my mind was alienated from her, like as my mind was alienated from her sister.
19 Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.
20 For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.
21 Thus thou calledst to remembrance the lewdness of thy youth, in bruising thy teats by the Egyptians for the paps of thy youth.
22 Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;
23 The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.
24 And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.
25 And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.
26 They shall also strip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fair jewels.
27 Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more.
28 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated:
29 And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
30 I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols.
31 Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand.
32 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou shalt drink of thy sister’s cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much.
33 Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria.
34 Thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, and thou shalt break the sherds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
35 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
36 The LORD said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations;
37 That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.
38 Moreover this they have done unto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.
39 For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus have they done in the midst of mine house.
40 And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far, unto whom a messenger was sent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, paintedst thy eyes, and deckedst thyself with ornaments,
41 And satest upon a stately bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon thou hast set mine incense and mine oil.
42 And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.
43 Then said I unto her that was old in adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms with her, and she with them?
44 Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women.
45 And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
46 For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.
47 And the company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.
48 Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.
49 And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

Romans 11:7-12
7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

Romans 10:19-21
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

However the Father bear record of Jesus and Jesus bear them record.

John 5:37-47
37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
41 I receive not honour from men.
42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

The Apostle Paul bear Israel record.

Romans 10:1-5
1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

Hebrews 4:12-13
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

For you the body of Christ, the Church, are the Bride of Christ!!

2 Corinthians 11:2
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

Revelation 22:16-17
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

However God has a separate covenant with Israel that does not pertain to the covenant that we are currently living under even though those of Israel can come into this covenant even as the Apostles and many other Jewish people have already done because of God’s grace and mercy as well as because of the Gentiles that through your mercy Israel also may obtain mercy.

Romans 11:25-33
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.
29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

Isaiah 28:9-10
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

To learn of this doctrinal knowledge and to be blessed to receive of this understanding of doctrine one must not neglect having a Pastor over them and the faithful attendance of going to Church.

Ephesians 4:11-16
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Romans 10:14-15
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

You can not receive of this as part of the body of Christ if you have not submitted yourself to the 5-fold ministry of God that wasFor the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceiveand you can not receive of this as part of the body of ChristFrom whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in loveif you deliberately and intentionally refuse to go to Church and to submit yourself to those who have the rule over you.

Hebrews 13:17
17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Acts 20:28
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

1 Peter 5:1-4
1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Hebrews 10:23-31
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Speaking unto the Hebrews the writer says “for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat“. Even so the majority of the Christian world, if I may give my judgment as many as 95% or more suffer from the same admonishment as they still are unable to receive “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” which speaks of the foundation of the gospel of Jesus Christ explaining that you must repent of your sins while having faith toward God while then being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and the promise of receiving the Holy Ghost. The laying on of hands where the Holy Ghost is given, gifts of the Spirit are given, and the sick are anointed with oil in the name of the Lord. Continuing on “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” the “resurrection of the dead” which is speaking of the catching away of the saints which can only happen if you have the Spirit of Christ the Holy Spirit within you of which you also need to be planted together in the likeness of his death so we will be also in the likeness of his resurrection being risen from the dead which is speaking of the gospel of Jesus Christ where after repenting you are baptized into Jesus Christ where you are baptized into his death and then receive the Holy Spirit so that you are in the likeness of his resurrection. Then of “eternal judgment” which is the second death known as great white throne judgment where those who were not part of the “resurrection of the dead” will be judged by God and cast into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. Again I say, “for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat“. Even so the majority of the Christian world, if I may give my judgment as many as 95% or more suffer from the same admonishment of the Hebrews as they still are unable to receive “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” and will thus perish in their sins.

Therefore I will show the scriptures of “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” in their order so that you will be saved from your sins and be able to instruct others of this truth given to us in the Word of God that we may all escape the pangs of death. Thus illustrating to whom the Lord God will “teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Hebrews 6:1-2
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

First understand that this did not say reject and ignore “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” because it said “let us go on unto perfection” because “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” are the foundation and the milk of which you must have as a babe that first comes to Christ even as every person must first be a babe in need of the milk before that babe can grow. “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” (1 Peter 2:2) This growing is the “let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation” of “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” that is being spoken of here as the writer goes on to explain what these “principles of the doctrine of Christ” are that you must first have understanding of so that you can then “go on unto perfection“.

The foundation.

Ephesians 2:20-22
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

This foundation requires you to first partake ofrepentance from dead works, and of faith toward Godso that you can then partakeOf the doctrine of baptismsof which allows you to then be born again and now part ofthe building fitly framed togetherthatgroweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.Which can not take place until you have been born again the correct way which isthe principles of the doctrine of Christ“.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

That is the gospel of Jesus Christ. However, for you to have received of this gospel of Jesus Christwherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vainonly applies to you if you have partook of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection which is the gospel teaching of Jesus Christ and thelaying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

This is how you partake of the gospel of Jesus Christ which is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Acts 2:38-39
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

When youRepent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghostyou have now become born again and have also partook ofthe principles of the doctrine of Christ“. Theprinciples of the doctrine of Christwasthe foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.This is seen and partook of in being born again according to the only way one can become born again which is toRepent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.You have now repented from dead works while having faith toward God that he will remit your sins and fill you with the Holy Ghost. This isthe doctrine of baptismsthat is being spoken of as you have been baptized both by water baptism into the death of Jesus Christ and have now received the Holy Ghost which is the baptism of the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ spoken of throughout the gospel teaching of Jesus Christ.

Luke 3:16
16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Theprinciples of the doctrine of Christ” “of laying on of handsis where the Holy Ghost is given, gifts of the Spirit are given, and the sick are anointed with oil in the name of the Lord.

Acts 8:18-19
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

1 Timothy 4:14
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

James 5:14-15
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Theprinciples of the doctrine of Christof theresurrection of the dead” which is speaking of the catching away of the saints, can only happen if you have the Spirit of Christ the Holy Spirit within you of which you also need to be planted together in the likeness of his death so we will be also in the likeness of his resurrection being risen from the dead which is speaking of the gospel of Jesus Christ where after repenting you are baptized into Jesus Christ where you are baptized into his death and then receive the Holy Spirit so that you are in the likeness of his resurrection.

Romans 6:1-7
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Romans 8:9-11
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Once you have been planted together in the likeness of his death so that you will be also in the likeness of his resurrection from the dead you can then be caught away with the saints when the Lord Jesus comes to receive his bride of which is the body of Christ the Church.

Acts 17:32-33
32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.
33 So Paul departed from among them.

Acts 24:21-22
21 Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.
22 And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.

1 Corinthians 15:20-22
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1 Corinthians 15:39-44
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

1 Thessalonians 4:14-18
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Concerning theprinciples of the doctrine of Christ” “and of eternal judgmentwhich is the second death known as great white throne judgment where those who were not part of theresurrection of the deadwill be judged by God and cast into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Revelation 2:11
11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Revelation 20:6
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Revelation 20:11-15
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Hebrews 5:12-14
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Appearances can be Deceiving

Matthew 23:25-28
25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

The modern day Pharisees are the Christians that claim the name of Jesus Christ yet within they are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. Claiming they are followers of Jesus Christ and refusing to repent of their sins, refusing to turn away from their sins, and refusing to deny themselves the partaking of the world. Their priests, teachers, and leaders make a pretense on the outside of wearing special robes, attire, and other clothing that set them apart yet within they are full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Theses blind modern day Christian Pharisees have chosen to lead their flock of blind Christian Pharisees into the ditch. Full of ungodliness and worldly lusts they cling to this world and refuse to partake of the sufferings of Christ and to cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.Beward of False Doctrine

2 Peter 2:1-3
1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

These false prophets and false teachers have brought in damnable heresies in regards to the teaching of the Godhead and how to be born again and truly many are following their path of ruin and loss while they speak evil of the truth. Through their extortion they deceive you with their false doctrines and teachings of men and make merchandise of you. Living off the gospel while they themselves are teaching you deceit, error, and with their merchandise they cost you your souls as you follow their path of ruin and that of the loss of your soul.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

These false apostles, prophets, and teachers of men that are making merchandise of you are following after their master for it is no marvel that “Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” These ministers who have by appearances transformed themselves into ministers of righteousness who were not called to preach this gospel of Jesus Christ and even many who were called chose rather to make merchandise of you so that they could live a life of being looked up too, praised by you, and live deliciously off of you whose end shall be according to their works.

There are many false doctrinal teachings in Christendom. Do you suppose that none of these so called ministers are not as their father satan who has transformed himself into an angel of light? Do you suppose that all these ministers are truly ministers of righteousness? Then who are those that we are warned of throughout scripture that are leading their followers to a devil’s hell? Who are these that are making merchandise of you? Who are these that are teaching doctrines of devils? Who are these that are teaching false doctrines, false traditions, and teachings of men? Appearances can be deceiving but by their fruits you will know them. That is if you know the truth yourself so that you can see that their fruit is corrupt, venomous, and the ways of death. Using portions of scriptures to deceive you while refusing to teach the full truth of the doctrine of which they speak. Blind teachers leading the blind unless it be that you yourself will ask the Lord for an honest and good heart that having heard the Word you keep it, and while studying the Word God opens your understanding to it, because you have hungered for righteousness and turned away from sin while repenting. Otherwise you will remain blind to the truth of the Godhead and that of how to truly be born again.

2 Timothy 4:1-4
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Many so called Christians have cried out to be deceived. No longer desiring to endure sound doctrine, but rather have deliberately chosen to find themselves teachers, who having itching ears desiring for them to be scratched by you, lie to you and deceive you with their false doctrines because that is what you are paying them for. Turning your ears away from the truth to follow after cunning fables and false traditions of men. Is this you? It’s time to repent of your sins and earnestly seek the Lord Jesus Christ and find out if this is you and ask Him to guide you to the truth that you might be saved.

Acts 20:28-31
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

The Apostle Paul who himself lived with people that were trying to pervert the Christian faith of whom he rebuked throughout his teachings knew that after his death that grievous wolves would enter in not sparing the flock. Even of their own selves there would arise false apostles, false prophets, and false teachers of men speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after themselves so that they could make merchandise of you, be high and lifted up by you with praises of how great of teachers they are and how close they are to God, while you yourself have been deceived unwillingly or willingly by these wolves in sheep’s clothing who have came to devour the flock of God whose end shall be according to their works.

2 Timothy 3:1-9
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

We are told here by the Apostle Paul that in the last days dangerous times will come. Then he expounds upon this generation of people and their lifestyle while also describing that so called godly men will lead away captive silly or foolish women who are full of sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. The reason was given, they are led away with divers lusts and full of sins. These are men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof from such turn away.

Appearances can be Deceiving!

2 Thessalonians 2:8-12
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

These are followers of the anti-christ because “they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” So “God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Revelation 13:1-3
1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

This is a description of the endtime world governmental system upon the earth in the time of the anti-christ’s reign. Describing to us that it is satan or the dragon that gives the anti-christ “his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Revelation 13:11-18
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

However, hope is given even in this worst of times!

Revelation 18:4-8
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

Even so the Lord is calling you to “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” This is because God is referring to MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. This false Church is the mother of harlots thus she has daughters that have come out of her. Are you in one of these harlot churches who has compromised the truth? Are you in the mother church? If so it’s time to “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

C & C: It is a sin not to pray for God’s people!

Connections and Comparisons is an ongoing weekly series that deals with many scriptures in the Bible, some of which are not commonly addressed. The purpose of this series is to examine the scriptures at hand comparing what is said and looking at the connections within.

1 Samuel 12:23
23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

It is a Sin not to Pray for God_s People

How can you love your brothers and sisters in Christ if you don’t even pray for them? How can you love your brothers and sisters in Christ if you don’t forgive them of their trespasses against you?

Colossians 4:12-13
12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
13 For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.

I’ve heard it preached that if you claim to be a “prayer warrior” or a person who just prays for people and not actually witnessing to people then you are not a soul winner. That you are not laboring in the harvest field. However your life is a witness of Jesus Christ if you are truly following after him. You can see that Epaphras was “always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” Clearly praying was labouring in the Harvest. Your works and your fruit will bear you out! You may not have a chance to verbally witness to people you are often around, however they seeing your good works and righteous lifestyle will know that you are different, set apart, and that is a witness of Jesus Christ to them. They may then inquire of you why you are doing what you are doing and the door is open for verbal communication.

It is also of importance to recognize that the phrase “prayer warrior” is something that people have made up to describe those who are actually obeying what the scriptures teach us to do. “Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thess 5:17) This commandment and what you are about to read throughout this lesson will teach you that we are all to be praying! Not just some Christians! But ALL Christians! The phrase “prayer warrior” has it’s place when the call goes forth to the “prayer warriors” to pray over a need. However, it also testifies against every one who does not faithfully pray over the needs of others.

Luke 2:36-37
36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

Again, we see the example of the Godly lifestyle not departing from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. This lesson is to encourage you and to lift you up! Not to condemn you. This lesson is to encourage you to grow closer to the Lord Jesus Christ and to develop a closer relationship with him! Not to condemn you.

2 Thessalonians 3:1-6
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.

It is a sin not to pray for God’s people! Learn from the prayers that the Apostles are praying for the Church and the prayers they were asking for themselves. Do you think the word of the Lord has free course in our world? It doesn’t. Just one example of the many nations where our brothers and sisters are located where the word of the Lord does not have free course is North Korea. There are to many others to list. You can see here that we need to be praying for our missionaries, pastors, teachers, and all saints that they “may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith”.

5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

Acts 12:5, 12-17
5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Your prayers are needed! Your prayers are essential for countless souls and also for your own soul! There is persecution taking place all over our world for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Persecutions like that of imprisonments, fines, beatings, rapings, murders, kidnappers, and many other ungodly practices. The Apostle Peter was freed because of the prayers of the saints and because of that of the will of God as you will see!! “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16b) Your prayers can change God’s mind. “In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying, I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying, Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD. And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake. And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.” (2 Kings 20:1-7)

12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.
13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.
14 And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.
15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

Even with those gathered together in faith praying, yet even when there prayers were answered they doubted that God answered their prayers, but God is faithful!!

16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.
17 But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-25
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
25 Brethren, pray for us.

When you pray if you find yourself struggling with sleep or other weaknesses of the flesh ask God to strengthen and help you. If you stop praying at that point do not condemn yourself. If the Spirit of God convicts you then repent and continue praying!!

Matthew 6:6
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

This verse of scripture isn’t to be taken alone to avoid or condemn corporate prayer as this is also Biblical as you have just seen an example of concerning those praying for the Apostle Peter. However, when you pray it is not to be seen of others for you to self glory in. You have your reward! And what a horrible reward that would be!

Matthew 14:22-23
22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

We absolutely need private prayer time where we are alone. While we pray daily in our private prayer time we need to be open to the Spirit of God and the direction God is leading our prayers. Do your best to make a regular daily private prayer time. Pray according to the time you have set aside for prayer but not quenching the Spirit because the time you set is at hand. The main goal of even setting a prayer time is about disciplining yourself to pray faithfully, daily. The ultimate goal is to pray faithfully, daily without time constraint.

Acts 9:36-41
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

As the Body of Christ we need to pray for the sick and if it be the will of God even to pray that God would raise up someone from the dead.

Matthew 18:19-20
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Acts 1:13-17, 23-26
13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

It is important that along with a faithful, daily prayer life that you not neglect coming together with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to pray together! If your Church doesn’t have a time to come together to pray then you should suggest it to your Pastor. The Church should come together to pray before each service that God would have his way in the service, that souls would be added to the kingdom, and that the Church is subjecting itself to the moving and leading of the Spirit of God and not after traditions of men. Yet still being in subjection to your Pastor as he is the shepherd of God chosen over the flock that God has given to him.

Luke 22:31-32
31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Pray that your brothers and sisters do not fail. Pray that they will grow in Christ. Pray that if they stumble and fall that they remain faithful and repent allowing God to raise them up again. Consider also yourself unless you too fall.

Romans 1:8-12
8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

Pray that your Church would be used in the gifts of the Spirit for the edification of the Body of Christ. Notice the Apostle Paul stresses “that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;”. It is a sin not to pray for God’s people! How can the love of Christ be in you if you don’t have time to pray for his people which is part of your spiritual Body in Christ? If you yet be in the Body of Christ?

1 Corinthians 1:1-7
1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Use the examples given to us of the Apostle’s words in things they desire for the Church to receive for your prayers for the Church.

2 Corinthians 9:7-15
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
12 For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
13 Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;
14 And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

As you go about doing good for the glory of God while seeking the best interest of others over yourself, there abounds many thanksgivings and prayers toward you as they glorify God on your behalf! That the Body of Christ is edified together in it’s love and nourishing of one another and from the nourishment from our God.

Ephesians 1:15-19
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Let us go on to perfection and pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. For all saints! So we know the hope of his calling “And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power”.

Ephesians 3:13-21
13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

What a beautiful prayer! What beautiful words of exhortation! This is where God wants us to be! That we “May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Philippians 1:3-11
3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

If you are struggling on how to pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ you need look no further than at the words and prayers of the Apostles for the Churches and their desire for you which is under the inspiration of the Spirit of God!

Colossians 1:3-14
3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

Read carefully now the prayer that he has for us all as we are the Church the Body of Christ.

9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

1 Thessalonians 1:2-10
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

1 Thessalonians 3:7-13
7 Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
8 For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
9 For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
11 Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.
12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:13-17
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

2 Timothy 1:1-3
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

Let us Work Together

Calling all Christians!! Calling all Christians!!

We are labourers together!!

View or Download as a .pdf file

The Harvest is Ripe

You could say who am I? I am nobody. But don’t stop there. Speak the truth to yourself. Instead say I am nobody in myself, but I am not alone. I am a child of God! I am a child of the King! I walk by faith and not by sight. It’s not by my power, nor by my might, but by the Lord’s Spirit. One man plants another man waters but it is the Lord that brings the increase. Let us work together. Let us labour together for the glory of God. It’s not about me. It’s not about you. But it’s about the Body fulfilling the commandment of God as being his arms. And being his legs. And being the Light on the hill that can not be hid. It’s about being that city that can’t be hid. It’s about being the Salt of the Earth. It’s about reaching out to the lost. It’s about working while it’s still day, because the night comes when no man can work!!

Every little thing helps.

Cultivate it and watch the Lord grow it!! Labour over it in your tears! Labour over it in your love! Labour over it through your prayers!! Labour over it with works with your faith!!

There are ministries that you can get involved with on a much larger scale.

One could buy a church van or a church bus and take care of the cost and maintenance of the vehicle for the glory of God. By taking on this responsibility of the expense, you then bless not only the Church with many souls for the glory of God that you reach out to, but you also relieve the Church from this expense which can then be used elsewhere in the Church for the glory of God. It is this kind of spirit and attitude we need. It is this kind of heart that says, what can I do for the kingdom of God and then prays and fasts about it and waits upon the Lord to give you direction that we need. It is this saint of God that we are looking for each person of the Church of the Living God to become!!

There are no little jobs in the kingdom of God.

We are all the Body of Christ. And if we were all the eye, where would the hearing be. If we were all the ear, then where would the smelling be. We must have this kind of heart and this kind of mind set to be the most successful we can individually be in the kingdom of God. Remember he that is greatest in the kingdom of God, let him be servant of all. We must desire to serve. And we must desire to serve for the right reasons. And we must desire to serve out of an honest and good heart keeping the Word of God and producing fruit with patience over time.

We are in this for life!! We are lifers!! We are not going anywhere!! We are here to stay!! For the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church of whom we are!! We must reach out for the lost with ferocity. We must reach out to the lost with the truth!! We must get knowledgeable in the Word of God, rightly dividing the Word of Truth!!

Let us labour together!! Let us strive together for the mastery of the kingdom of God! Let us go on to perfection!! Let us bind together in the bond of perfectness. Let us be full of Charity for the glory of God!!

In the kingdom of God it doesn’t matter if you are deaf, or if you are blind, or if you are not able to get around very well in this natural body that we have.

But what matters is are you reaching out to the lost in the midst of your trials, tribulations and persecutions. What matters is how can you reach out to the lost despite of your dilemma. How can I overcome my situation and be a blessing to the kingdom of God in reaching out for lost souls is the question?

AND GOD NOT ONLY HAS THE ANSWER, BUT HE IS THE ANSWER!! GOD WILL SUPPLY THE WAY AND HE WILL OPEN THE DOOR!! THE QUESTION IS, WILL YOU PICK UP THE SUPPLIES HE HAS GIVEN TO YOU AND WALK THROUGH THE OPEN DOOR?

Let us be kingdom minded. Let us pick up the weapons of our warfare that God has given to us and let us work together in unity for the glory of God.

Is Christ divided? Nay, but Christ is One Body tempered together with no schism within it. We are labourers of the Lord!! We are the Lord’s husbandmen!! We are the Lord’s building!! But careful how each man builds thereupon for no other foundation can be laid than that which is laid!!

It is not about stepping stones. Nor is it about one foot here and one foot there.

It is about what ever God has allowed of you to do, or whatever God has gifted you to do, or whatever God has called for you to do, to do it with all of your might as unto the Lord!! Let us work together for the glory of God.

If all were the Navy, where would be the Army? If all were the Army? Where would be the Air force? If all were the infantry, where would be the calvary? If all were the calvary, where would be the artillery? And if these units did not work together in unity as for a common goal, where would be the victory?

So it is for the kingdom of God.

We are not units of our own accord and we are not labourers for our own personal goals and agendas. But we are a Body of believers strategically placed throughout the world by the King of kings and we have a common purpose to reach out to the lost as a united force.

Inside of this Body God has called forth Apostles, and he has called forth Prophets, and he has called forth Evangelists, and he has called forth Pastors and he has called forth Teachers. This five fold ministry is the God called, God placed, leaders that are called for “the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (Ephesians 4:12-16)

We have some Generals, we have some Colonels, we have some Lieutenants, we have some Captains, we have some Sergeants, for the perfecting of the soldiers, for the work of the mission, for the benefit of the nation: till we all come in the unity of motion, and of the knowledge of our portion, unto a perfect soldier, unto the measure of the working of every part: from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in harmony.

But none of this is possible if we work alone and not as a unified Body of believers working for the common objective of reaching out for lost and dying souls with the goal being saving them from a devils hell that they might have life and peace both in this world and the world to come.

Luke 13:6-9
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Luke 3:9
9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Luke 8:15
15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

We are the dresser of his vineyard and we must do all that we can do that the tree be not cut down and cast into the fire; but rather by labouring, digging, and dunging the tree that it will then begin to produce fruit. We must do all that we can do to help the tree to become that which is upon the good ground.

Titus 2:11-15
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Jude 1:3-4
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jude 1:22-23
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

2 Timothy 2:23-26
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

We are ambassadors for Christ!!

As such we must be ready to bring forth the plan of salvation, zealous of good works, contending for the faith with meekness of wisdom, saving some with compassion and others with fear, pulling them out of the fire! For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

1 Corinthians 16:13-16
13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
14 Let all your things be done with charity.
15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)
16 That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.

Philippians 2:1-11
1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

John 13:13-17
13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Colossians 3:23-25
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

We are the servants of our Master Jesus Christ!!

If we be servants then we ought to serve with all joyfulness of heart, gladness of heart, and humbleness of heart for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works and happy are we if we do them! Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light and whatsoever we do, let us do it heartily, as to the Lord Christ.

Grace – Moving from Condemnation (Law) unto Justification (Grace)

In our study of Grace we are going to be covering many topics.  These topics will include how grace is accessed, how we moved from the law to grace, who the Justifier of many is, how grace is applied, how our conscience has been perfected, how grace does not give us an occasion to sin, that if we do fall short we can boldly come before the Lord and ask for forgiveness, and finally, what the grace of God teaches us.

Ephesians 4:8
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

Thank God for these wonderful gifts that were left for us.  You may be wondering what are some of these gifts that were left for us.  The Gift of Eternal Life, The Gift of the Holy Ghost, The nine Gifts of the Holy Ghost, The Gift of restoration of Sonship,  The Gift of Grace, The Gift of Righteousness, The Gift of the five fold ministry, namely, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Praise God for these wonderful Gifts!!

This captivity that was led captive was that of death.

Hebrews 2:14-17
14  Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16  For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17  Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Lets begin our teaching on the Gift of Grace.

Acts 20:32
32  And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

The very first thing we have just learned is that grace is able to build us up.  Unlike guilt which will tear you down.

This is because the Law brought forth guilt and condemnation, whereas grace brings forth justification of life.

Romans 3:19
19  Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Romans 5:15-19
15  But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
16  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17  For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19  For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

However we also learned from Acts 20:32 that grace will also give an inheritance to all them which are sanctified.  So the first thing we better find out is how does one become sanctified?

Hebrews 13:11-16
11  For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
12  Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
13  Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
14  For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
15  By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16  But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Here we have learned that the blood of Jesus sanctifies us.

Romans 15:15-16
15  Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,
16  That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

So now we have learned how one becomes sanctified.  We are sanctified by the Blood of Jesus Christ and the receiving of the Holy Ghost.  This is very important.

Recall: Acts 20:32
32  And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

This means that the Gift of Grace which is able to build you up, allows you to gain access to the inheritance, which is eternal life through Jesus Christ by the Gift of the Holy Ghost, which we have found is needed to be sanctified.  To be sanctified, one must be born again of water and of the Spirit as Jesus has told us in John 3:1-7, which is fulfilled in Acts 2:38-39.

It is essential for you to repent and be baptized in Jesus name for the remission of your sins and it is a promise that you will receive the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost will come into you with the evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance.

Acts 2:1-4
1  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Galatians 5:5
5  For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Romans 10:4-5
4  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5  For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

James 2:10-13
10  For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11  For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
12  So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
13  For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath showed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

Romans 5:1-6
1  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

So those who have the Spirit, which is the Holy Ghost, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith, and therefore being justified by faith, have access by their faith into grace, wherein we stand.

3  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4  And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
6  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Romans 3:19-26
19  Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20  Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21  But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22  Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Since we all have sinned and fell short of the Glory of God, God sent Jesus Christ the Righteous, to be a reconciliation between God and man.  Now by our obedience of faith and partaking of Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, we now have access by faith in His blood unto God’s grace wherein we now stand.  Being then justified freely by his grace we have the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

We are a Purchased Possession.  Bought with the Price of the Blood of Jesus Christ!!!

Ephesians 1:12-14
12  That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14  Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

The redemption of the purchased possession is our gathering together to Him in what we call the rapture, where we will meet the Lord in the air and be forever with Him.

1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

At this time I would like to turn our focus on how we obtain the free Gift of righteousness.

John 1:15-17
15  John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16  And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17  For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Romans 4:2-8
2  For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
3  For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
4  Now to him that worketh is the reward not ascertained by grace, but of debt.

Meaning that to him that works the reward is a debt owed for his labor instead of being freely given by God’s grace without works.

5  But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
6  Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
7  Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8  Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

So we obtain righteousness not by our works, but by obedience and by believing on God that justifies the ungodly.  This person, who has been obedient unto God and has believed on Jesus Christ whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, (to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past,) this person, God forgives their iniquities and does not impute sin to them, but instead as the Justifier of many, He imputes righteousness unto you, remembering your sins no more.

Romans 4:13-25
13  For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
14  For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
15  Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
16  Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
17  (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
18  Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
19  And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb:
20  He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
21  And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
22  And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
23  Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
24  But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
25  Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Even though righteousness is not obtained by works, we have learned that it is obtained by obedience.

Romans 6:16
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

We also have learned that righteousness is obtained by believing on God that justifies the ungodly.  Therefore being justified by faith it is highly important to realize that faith without works is dead.  It is our obedience of faith that leads unto righteousness.

Romans 1:5-6
5  By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
6  Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

James 2:20-23
20  But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21  Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22  Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23  And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Apostle James has given us clear instructions on how the scripture was fulfilled which said that Abraham believed God.  Just as our father Abraham applied his faith with obedience in believing God concerning the promise he was given through his seed, we too must be obedient to believing on God that justifieth the ungodly, as the scripture has told us.

Abraham showed his obedient faith by placing his only son Isaac on an altar to slay him as God commanded him, whereas we today are obedient to God as Jesus Christ has told us to be born again of water and of the Spirit, which will then lead to a life of separation, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.  This person’s faith is counted for righteousness.

Romans 5:10-19
10  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11  And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

The atonement of Christ was the reconciliation between God and man when Jesus Christ became our sacrifice for sins and made a way for us to partake of His righteousness through our obedient faith unto Him.  This is accomplished by applying Acts 2:38 in your life, wherein you partake of the born again experience of water and of the Spirit and thus the New Testament Covenant, (brought by Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection,) is fulfilled.  This fulfillment restores sonship that was lost by the first Adam.  The last Adam being Jesus Christ.

12  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13  (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

That figure of Him that was to come was Jesus Christ.

What you are reading is the moving away from condemnation that was brought forth by sin, to justification unto life that was brought forth by Jesus Christ.

O the Manifold Wisdom of God!!! O the depth of His riches!!!  How unsearchable are His ways past finding out!!!

2 Corinthians 5:17-21
17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Even though Jesus Christ never sinned, He became sin for us, that through His death sin might be destroyed.  Thus allowing those who obey Him to partake of the born again process of God and to then become a new creature in Christ.

Colossians 1:19-23
19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
23  If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Set free from the Law of Sin and Death by the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus!!

Romans 8:1-18
1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

This is why we must born of the Spirit, otherwise we are none of His.

10  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Righteousness that was imputed to your charge without the works of the Mosaic Law.

11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13  For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

We must not continue in sin, for if you live after the flesh, you will surely die!!

14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The word Abba means Father.

16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

We will be joint-heirs with Christ.  Everything that is His will be ours!!

18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Praise God!!  What Precious Promises we have in God!!  What Precious Gifts God has given unto us!!  O How Precious is the Blood!!??!!

Hebrews 10:1-4; 14
1  For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2  For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3  But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4  For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
14  For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

This process of Justification wherein God the Justifier of many, has given the free Gift of grace that reigns through the free Gift of righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord, has forever purged us from condemnation and guilt concerning our conscience and has forever perfected the conscience of them that are sanctified, (which are those who have been born again by partaking of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection), and has set us free of the Law of Sin and Death.

Hebrews 10:26
26  For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Romans 6:23
23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17
16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

So we see that it is very important once we come to the knowledge of the truth, to not purposefully and intentionally go on sinning.  But instead we are to put our flesh to death concerning sin, and obey righteousness unto Life.

Romans 6:12-18
12  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13  Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16  Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17  But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18  Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

What form of doctrine that was delivered to you?  The gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ of which you partake of by applying Acts 2:38 in your life.

Galatians 5:13-26
13  For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14  For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15  But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

But if you are being led by the flesh, then you are under the penalty of the Law of Sin and Death. For, “the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezek 18:4b)

19  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24  And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26  Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

If we do make a Mistake and Sin

1 John 1:9
9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Ephesians 3:11-12
11  According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
12  In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

Hebrews 4:14-16
14  Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15  For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

So when you fall into temptation and sin, don’t let the devil or yourself, begin to condemn you or to begin to give you a guilt trip.  Instead apply the Word of God, the Sword of the Spirit!  Come Boldly unto the throne of grace with full assurance, for He is Faithful and Just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  Remember, there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Now that we fully understand the process of Justification, and how the free gifts of God has brought life unto us, let’s continue with what the Grace of God teaches us.

Titus 2:11-15
11  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15  These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Those who truly are following the Grace of God will deny themselves ungodliness and worldly lusts, and will live Soberly, Righteously, and Godly, in this present world.  They will be watching for the blessed hope of Jesus Christ’s return and will become zealous of good works.

Titus 3:8
8  This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Ephesians 2:10
10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
