Come let us Grow Together: Know you not your Life is a Written Epistle, Known and Read of all Men?

Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God. The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in things pertaining to God.

Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart. (2 Cor 3:2-3)

There is a big difference between judging someone, and reading them! How do you know if you are reading them correctly? By the Word of God.

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. (1 Jn 3:14, 18)

Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. (James 3:12-14)

This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. (James 3:12-18)

Many people use the phrase, “you’re judging me”. And “you are a hypocrite.” But what one needs to understand is that there is a big difference between judging someone, and reading them! Not only so. One must also realize that there is judging that is allowed. Hear it again.

For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. (1 Cor 5:3-5)

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? (1 Cor 6:1-5)

So when someone reads your epistle and knows the Word of God they can prayerfully determine course of action against those who have done wrong in the Body of Christ. They can also read by your actions whether you are walking in light or whether you are walking in darkness still.

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. (Eph 5:1-5)

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. (Eph 5:6-11)

Come let us Grow Together: Cut the Ropes

Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God. The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in things pertaining to God.

Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day. And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship, Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved. Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off. (Acts 27:29-32)

If we are to be saved, we must cut the ropes of sin!! Except you abide in this ship, you cannot be saved!!

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (Lk 16:13)

You must cut the ropes of sin in your life!! Whether it be drugs, alcohol, pornography, gossip, backbiting, foul language, etc. If you are to find eternal life you must cut off the ropes of sin in your life and abide in this ship, which is the Church of the Living God!!

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; (1 Tim 1:9-10)

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Rev 21:8)

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Tim 2:20-22)

The choice is yours!!!! Cut off the ropes of sin and abide in this ship and live, or you will surely die!!

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (Heb 12:1-3) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Heb 10:25)

Cut off the ropes of sin and abide in this ship and live!!!!

C & C: They’re Coming! Make Room!

Connections and Comparisons is an ongoing weekly series that deals with many scriptures in the Bible, some of which are not commonly addressed. The purpose of this series is to examine the scriptures at hand comparing what is said and looking at the connections within.

Make room in your heart! Make room in your building!

Preparations and Provisions

They’re Coming! Make Room! As the body of Christ, the body of believers, we must first make room in our hearts for the revival of souls that we are looking for in this end of days revival. We must prepare ourselves to receive them. We must make the necessary provisions for them.

Matthew 9:36-38
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

As the body of Christ, as we begin to prepare our hearts for those that are coming, we are making room for them within ourselves.

1. You must have a love for God and for souls. It can’t just be about you! If you have a love for God and for souls then you will have compassion for souls!

Mark 12:29-31
29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

When Jesus saw the multitudes He had compassion for them. He recognized that they were “as sheep having no shepherd.” We must develop a compassion for souls! This compassion for souls should be driven by our desire to see them saved! You will not have this desire to see souls saved nor will you have compassion on lost souls if you are selfish, if you don’t love God, and if you don’t love your neighbor. You must begin to see beyond yourself and your own desires.

2. You must begin to pray everyday so that you can develop a closer relationship with Jesus Christ and follow after what He has instructed.

As disciples of Jesus Christ we should already be in the harvest fields working and continually asking “the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest” because “the labourers are few” and we have compassion for lost souls! You must cultivate a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ! You need to pray and ask the Lord to help you to “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” You need to be preparing yourself and your Church for the harvest.

3. You must let go of self and follow after love.

1 John 4:7-21
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

4. You must have faith that They’re Coming! Make Room! “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Lk 19:10) “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) If you are following after Jesus Christ then you too will be following after the heartbeat of God and you too will be seeking to save that which is lost by your witnessing to them of Jesus Christ and the gospel! You will be sharing with them how to be born again correctly of water and of the Spirit!

5. You must be following after the grace and mercy of God! Applying what the grace of God teaches you!

Titus 2:11-15
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

If you are truly following after the grace of God you will be abstaining from sin! “denying ungodliness and worldly lusts” and you will “live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ”.

6. You will be zealous of good works! Knowing that we are called to good works.

Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Being saved by grace through faith doesn’t eliminate what the grace of God teaches us, “denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world”. If you sin you will die in your sins unless you repent of your sins!

Romans 6:12-18
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

You are “the servants of righteousness”! “For sin shall not have dominion over you”! You are not saved be works, however “we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” You are part of a “peculiar people, zealous of good works”!

7. There should be no divisions among you!

1 Corinthians 1:10-15
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

Ephesians 5:30
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

1 Corinthians 3:3-15
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

They’re Coming! Make Room! As the body of Christ, the body of believers, we must also make room in our building for the revival of souls that we are looking for in this end of days revival. We must prepare ourselves to receive them. We must make the necessary provisions for them.

1. Depending on the size of your Church building and the number of people you have in your Church, you will need to make the necessary provisions to accommodate the end of days revival. Including the possibility of remodeling or expanding your Church building, as well as the possibilities of a new building or sponsoring a new Church plant! You may find that you will need to do all these things!

Acts 20:28
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

We are not to sit around idle waiting upon the Lord but we are to occupy until He comes!

Luke 19:12-13
12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

2. As the Pastor of the Church you will need to have the vision by God and faith in God that He will fill your Church with lost souls that He has entrusted you with. You must prepare your people for the coming of the end of days revival! You are their Pastor and you are leading about sheep! They will follow you if you will follow Jesus Christ!

John 21:15-17
15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Proverbs 29:18a
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish:

1 Corinthians 11:1
1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

3. Faithful stewards of the mysteries of God.

1 Corinthians 4:1-2
1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

As the Pastor and ministers of the Church you have a responsible by God to be faithful stewards of the mysteries of God. You should correctly understand how our God is One and ready to give account to every man that asks a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear; as well as making sure your congregation also has this understanding. This prayer should be part of your prayer every day:

Ephesians 1:17-23 {Pray these scriptures}
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

You don’t want to find yourself teaching false doctrine and perverting the gospel of Jesus Christ so it is better to pray the above prayer everyday and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth even if you are at first confused by what you now discover!

Galatians 1:6-10
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

1 Peter 3:15-18
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

C & C: Gather the Neighbor’s Vessel and Let the Lord Pour the Oil in

Connections and Comparisons is an ongoing weekly series that deals with many scriptures in the Bible, some of which are not commonly addressed. The purpose of this series is to examine the scriptures at hand comparing what is said and looking at the connections within.

Romans 8:9
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

It’s time to Gather the Neighbor’s Vessel and Let the Lord Pour the Oil in! The Oil is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ and “if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”

2 Kings 4:1-6
1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

Church what do you have in your house? Your earthly tabernacle? Do you have the Holy Ghost oil? Do you have the Spirit of Christ evidenced with speaking with other tongues, as the Spirit gives the utterance? If so, then it’s time to Gather the Neighbor’s Vessel and Let the Lord Pour the Oil in! If you do not have the Holy Ghost oil inside of you, it’s time to be filled!

3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

Church it’s time to Gather the Neighbor’s Vessel and Let the Lord Pour the Oil in! “So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.” (Lk 14:21-24)

5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

You must first have the Holy Ghost oil yourself Church to pour out! The Lord desires that his house be filled! It’s time to Gather the Neighbor’s Vessel and Let the Lord Pour the Oil in!

Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Church do you have the Holy Ghost oil? Do you have the Holy Ghost power and anointing?

Acts 3:1-11
1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

The Lord’s house shall be called the house of prayer! It’s time to Gather the Neighbor’s Vessel and Let the Lord Pour the Oil in! “And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.” (Mt 21:12-14)

It’s time to be in the house of the Lord, the Church! And no longer a stay at home so called Christian when the Lord desires that his house be filled! “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Heb 10:24-25) The Day of the Lord is certainly fast approaching!

2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

Do you have the Holy Ghost oil burning within you Church?

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

It’s time to Gather the Neighbor’s Vessel and Let the Lord Pour the Oil in! The Lord desires that his house be filled! You must first have the Holy Ghost oil yourself Church to pour out!

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

From laying outside the Temple to entering the Temple walking, LEAPING, and PRAISING GOD! And ALL the people SAW HIM WALKING and PRAISING God! Yet much of the so called Church world refuse to show forth the PRAISES of Him “who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” (1 Peter 2:9) Rather as the religious hypocrites of the day showing forth their own traditions of religious piety try to silence the praises of God! The children of the Highest giving PRAISES unto HIS GLORIOUS NAME!!

Matthew 21:15-16
15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased,
16 And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

You cry out for Revival at your Churches and refuse to let the children cry out in the temple unto God! You cry out for Revival and refuse to let the Holy Ghost oil be poured into the vessels that have gathered in the name of Jesus Christ! You cry out for revival and refuse to open up your heart to the truth of the doctrine of Jesus Christ! Your hearts have waxed gross and your ears are dull of hearing. It’s time to clean up your temple that is “full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.” (Mt 23:27) If you want Revival of the outpouring of the Holy Ghost oil then it’s time to become obedient to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and stop placing millstones about the necks of the hearers. “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:38-39) It’s time to stop perverting the ways of righteousness as did Elymas the sorcerer. (Acts 13:8) “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” (Gal 1:8-9) If you are not preaching Acts 2:38 the fulfilling of the gospel of Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection and how one becomes born again of water and of the Spirit, then LET HIM BE ACCURSED!

(Continuing from Acts 3)
10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

(Continuing from 2 Kings 4)
6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

Have you run out of vessels? There are a little over 7,000,000,000 vessels at your neighbors! And the Lord desires that his house be filled! You must first have the Holy Ghost oil yourself Church to pour out! It’s time to Gather the Neighbor’s Vessel and Let the Lord Pour the Oil in!

Come let us Grow Together: Members of the Body

Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God. The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in things pertaining to God.

Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision [Jews] in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. (Eph 2:11-13)

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh. (Heb 10:19-20)

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; [Jew and Gentile] Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; (Eph 2:14-15)

Remember the New Testament Covenant: I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them. (Heb 10:16)

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. [Jew and Gentile] For through him [Jesus] we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. (Eph 2:16-18)

Very important to understand. We both Jew and Gentile gain access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. (Eph 2:19-22)

This referring to the Holy Ghost or the Spirit of God dwelling inside of those who have received the gift of the Holy Ghost evidenced by the speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. (1 Cor 12:13-14)

Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. (Eph 4:25)

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. (Eph 5:19-21)

For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. (Rom 12:4-5)

Come let us Grow Together: Jesus is the name Joshua or Jehoshua

Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God.  The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in things pertaining to God.

When reading in the New Testament we come across two passages of scriptures that uses the name of Jesus, but from the context of the scriptures we can see that it is Joshua the son of Nun that is being referenced.

Acts 7:44-45
44  Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
45  Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

We know that the successor of Moses was Joshua the son of Nun who brought the children of Israel into the promised land.

Hebrews 4:6-8
6  Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7  Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8  For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Again, we can see from the context of these scriptures that Joshua the son of Nun is being referenced.

So why is the name of Jesus used here instead of Joshua in the King James Version of the Bible?

The answer for this is the name of Jesus is the name Joshua or Jehoshua.

Exodus 33:11
11  And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

The word Joshua in the Hebrew is:

3091. Yehowshuwa’, yeh-ho-shoo’-ah; or  Yehowshu’a, yeh-ho-shoo’-ah; from H3068 and H3467; Jehovah-saved; Jehoshua (i.e. Joshua), the Jewish leader:–Jehoshua, Jehoshuah, Joshua. Comp. H1954, H3442.

Numbers 13:16
16  These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.

Again, we see that the same Hebrew word for Jehoshua is:

3091. Yehowshuwa’, yeh-ho-shoo’-ah; or  Yehowshu’a, yeh-ho-shoo’-ah; from H3068 and H3467; Jehovah-saved; Jehoshua (i.e. Joshua), the Jewish leader:–Jehoshua, Jehoshuah, Joshua. Comp. H1954, H3442.

Matthew 1:21
21  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

The Greek word used for Jesus is:

2424. Iesous, ee-ay-sooce’; of Heb. or. [H3091]; Jesus (i.e. Jehoshua), the name of our Lord and two (three) other Isr.:–Jesus.

So the reason why the name of Jesus is used in those two passages of scriptures instead of the name of Joshua in the King James Version of the Bible is because the name of Jesus is the name Joshua or Jehoshua.

There are some people who claim that the name of Jesus is the incorrect name of our Messiah due to a conspiratorial cover up to hide his true name from the world.  But as we have seen up to this point Jesus is the name Joshua or Jehoshua.

Nehemiah 8:17
17 And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness.

Here we see the name of Joshua being translated as Jeshua.  Therefore Jehoshua can be contracted as Joshua or Jeshua.

Is there a translation problem into the English language?

The answer is no!!  Joshua is an English transliteration straight from Hebrew. Jesus is from Hebrew, then Aramaic, then Greek, then Latin, and finally English.

“Before closing our remarks on the genealogy it is proper to say something of the great difference between the forms of proper names in the Old Testament and in the New. This difference forces itself on the attention of the reader here more than anywhere else in the New Testament. The difference arises from three distinct causes: First, from the loss of certain letters by Hebrew names in passing through the Greek, the language in which the New Testament was written. The Greek has no h nor j, and it usually terminates masculine proper names with an s; so that Hebrew names with the former letters in them must be spelt in Greek without them, and those terminating in h, which is a very common Hebrew termination, must have h changed to s. Thus, Rehoboam becomes Roboam, Hezekiah becomes Ezekias; Elijah, Elias etc. Second, the Hebrews were much given to contraction of proper names: thus, Jehoshaphat is contracted into Josaphat, Jehoram into Joram, Azariah into Uzziah. This last name furnishes an example of the co-working of both these causes. Originally Azariah, it became by contraction Uzziah, and then, by the peculiar mode of spelling in Greek, it became Ozias, as in verses 8 and 9 above. Third, all living languages undergo some changes of pronunciation, and subsequent changes of spelling to suit the new pronunciation. Some of these differences are doubtless to be accounted for in this way, e. g., Salathiel, of Chronicles and Matthew, is Shealtiel in Ezra and Nehemiah; while Zerubbabel, of all these Old Testament writers, is Zorobabel in Matthew and Luke.”
—Commentary on Matthew and Mark

What does the name Jesus mean?

The name Jesus is the same as Saviour. It is derived from the verb signifying to save. In Hebrew it is the same as Joshua.
—Barnes’ Notes on the New Testament

shalt call his name JESUS — from the Hebrew meaning “Jehovah the Saviour”; in Greek JESUS
—Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary

The word Jesus is the Latin form of the Greek Iesous, which in turn is the transliteration of the Hebrew Jeshua, or Joshua, or again Jehoshua, meaning “Jehovah is salvation.”
—Catholic Encyclopedia http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/08374x.htm

The Significance of the Name of Jesus
Before the Son of God was born, an angel gave Joseph the name by which He was to be called—Jesus. God chose this name to reveal Himself in flesh as Savior, for the name Jesus literally means “Jehovah-Savior,” “Jehovah our Savior,” or “Jehovah is Salvation.”
—David K. Bernard “In the Name of Jesus”

The Greek form of a Hebrew name, which had been borne by two illustrious individuals in former periods of the Jewish history – Joshua, the successor of Moses, and Jeshua, the high-priest, who with Zerubbabel took so active a part in the re-establishment of the civil and religious polity of the Jews on their return from Babylon. Its original and full form is Jehoshua, becoming by contraction Joshua or Jeshua. Joshua, the son of Nun, the successor of Moses, was originally named Hoshea (saving), which was altered by Moses into Jehoshua (Jehovah (our) Salvation) (Numbers 13:16). The meaning of the name, therefore, finds expression in the title Saviour, applied to our Lord (Luke 1:47; Luke 2:11; John 4:42).

The five-fold ministry

Ephesians 4:11
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

There are some people who teach that there is no longer Apostles and Prophets in what has come to be called the five-fold ministry, believing that these two offices or callings no longer exist today.  There isn’t any scriptural backing for this, actually it’s quite to the contrary as you can see from the Apostle Paul’s writings.  Not only do we see the five-fold ministry here listed by the Apostle Paul but he also writes, “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?” (1 Corinthians 12:27-29) So what is the purpose of the five-fold ministry within the body of Christ?

Ephesians 4:12-16
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

The five-fold ministry was given to the Church by God for the perfecting of the saints, meaning for the equipping or training of the saints for the work of ministry or the service of ministering so that the body of Christ can adequately minister to the many needs of both the body of Christ as well as to those who are not yet part of the body of Christ.

The five-fold ministry was also given to the Church for the edifying of the body of Christ. “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.  For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.” (Romans 14:17-19)

Till we all come in the unity of the faith – The Church is to be a unified body, that there should be no schism in the body, but rather that the body is unified in the faith or the gospel teaching of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. “Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel”. (Philippians 1:27) “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

So the five-fold ministry was given to the Church by God so that the body of Christ could be fully equipped or trained for the service of ministering to others, as well as for the edifying of itself in love as seen in verse 16 of Ephesians chapter 4 as the Apostle Paul continues expounding upon the functionality of the five-fold ministry.  Not only were we to come to the unity of the faith or the gospel teaching of Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, and how we are to partake of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection in our own lives, but also the five-fold ministry was given so that we could all come in to the full discernment of the knowledge of the Son of God.  Understanding who the Son of God is and what work was accomplished through him through his atoning sacrifice unto God the Father. “Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” (Colossians 2:11-15)

This knowledge of who the Son of God is, the accomplished work of Jesus Christ’s atoning sacrifice to God, and our partaking of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection through the gospel message brings us “unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ”.  Where we “grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ”. So that we are “no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive”.

The five-fold ministry equipping or training the saints for the work of ministering and for the edifying of itself in love coupled with the correct understanding of the knowledge of who the son of God is, his accomplished mediatorial role between God and men, so that we could be born again by partaking of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection, was to bring us unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ so that we would not be any longer deceived by false doctrines of men whereby they wait in cunning craftiness to deceive you.

This accomplished mediatorial role of Christ between God and men by the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection, finds it’s fulfillment in the correct understanding of the knowledge of who the son of God really is and how we are to partake of the gospel message of hope of the born again process of God by being born of water and of the Spirit (Jn 3:1-7) through partaking of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection.  “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:18-21) “Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.” (Galatians 3:20) “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1 Timothy 2:5-6)

This correct understanding of the knowledge of who the Son of God really is brings you to the fulfillment of the plan of Salvation laid out for us by the mediatorial work of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, which is found in the fulfilling of the gospel message of hope where we are born again of water and of the Spirit by repenting of our sins and being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins, and then we are given the promise that we will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38)

How Does One Increase Their Faith?

I’d Like to first start out by addressing what Faith actually is.

The Bible tells us in the book of
Hebrews 11:1-3
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2  For by it (faith) the elders obtained a good report.
3  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

So we should have learned that not only is faith the substance of things hoped for, but the evidence of things not seen.  We also should have learned that the elders obtained a good report by having faith.  So that should tell us, that if we want to obtain a good report with God, we too need to exercise Faith.  We also learned that by faith we as humans accept that God spoke the world into existence by things that do not appear.

The dictionary defines faith as:

Faith: 1. complete trust or confidence.  2. belief that is not based on proof.

Now that we know what Faith is, I’d like to share with you how important it is to have Faith.

Heb 11:6
6  But without faith it is impossible to please him (God): for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

So then, having faith is pretty important to have isn’t it?  So we want to make sure we exercise our Faith before God, that He may be pleased with us, so that we too can obtain a good report like the elders before us.

You may be wondering what the word diligently means.

Diligent: 1. careful and conscientious in a task or duty 2. constant in effort to accomplish something; attentive and persistent in doing anything.  3. Marked by persevering, with painstaking effort.

So according to the verse we just read, not only is it impossible to please God without having faith, we also learned that when we come to the Lord we must believe that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

So now we have learned that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, that the elders obtained a good report by faith, through faith in God we believe he spoke the World into existence, not by things which were seen, but out of nothing, and that without Faith, it is impossible to please God, and that we also must believe that the Lord is a rewarder of those who make a conscientious effort, characterized by persevering with a constant, painstaking effort.

Now ask yourself a couple of questions.  When you seek the Lord with your prayers, do you pursue Him with diligence?  Do you have enough Faith to believe that He will answer your prayer?

So then, How does one increase their Faith?  You may be telling yourself, that you don’t have any faith to even be increased.  Let’s see what the Bible says about that belief system.

In Romans 12:3 Paul is speaking and says,
3  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

So we now know that every man has been given the measure of faith.  Thank God for that.  So since we know we have a measure of faith, the question remains, How then do we increase our Faith.  Let’s start with step one.

Step 1.  Hearing

Romans 10:10-17
10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Are you ashamed of Jesus Christ?  Are you ashamed to speak about Jesus Christ to your friends?  Are you afraid to speak of Jesus Christ while you are in a public area?
Because the Bible says in Mark 8:38
38  Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Continuing at Romans 10:12
12  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

This verse does not mean that if you call on the name of the Lord and have not followed the plan of Salvation that you will be saved.  The Bible plainly lays out the plan of Salvation that must be followed.  This verse is speaking to those who already have fulfilled the plan of Salvation.

Listen to what Luke 13:23-30 reads
23  Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24  Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25  When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
26  Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
27  But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28  There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
29  And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30  And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

Now that you understand what verse thirteen meant I will reread it and listen closely to what verse 14 reads

13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14  How then shall they call on him (Jesus) in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

So now we see that you must have a preacher to hear the Word of God.

15  And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Step 2.  Believing

Believe:  1. to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so.  2. To have faith, confidence, or trust.

So not only do you have to hear the Word of God, to increase your faith.  You also have to believe what you hear.  However, there are many false teachers and false doctrines.  So, if you truly want your faith to increase, you will have to open your Bible up and begin to Study and confirm what you are being taught.  You will have to search the scriptures.

In II Tim 2:13-21 it reads,
13  If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
14  Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

Subverting:  1. To destroy completely; ruin:   2. To undermine the character, morals, or allegiance of; corrupt.

15  Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rightly Dividing: Correctly interpreting the Word of God in analysis and presentation.

16  But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
17  And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18  Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

These verses are very important to hear.  This tells us that if we are in a church that doesn’t rightly divide the Bible, to get away from them, because it will increase unto more ungodliness.  If you do not go home and study what the preacher has taught on and search the scriptures yourself, to see if the preacher correctly interpreted the passages he preached on, then how will you ever know that you are in a false doctrine of profane and vain babblings.

19  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Iniquity:  injustice or immoral behavior.

20  But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21  If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

So there is no reason for you to be a vessel of dishonour.  This verse plainly tells you that if you will purge yourself from iniquity, then you will be a vessel of honour and sanctified.

Sanctified:  1. to make holy; set apart as sacred; consecrate.  2. to purify or free from sin.

Psa 37:3-5
3  Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4  Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5  Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

So we have learned up to this point that not only do you need to hear the Word of God from a preacher, you also need to study and make sure what you hear is accurate, and you need to put your Trust in the Lord, by believing that the Word of God is truth.

Psa 40:4
4  Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Titus 1:1
1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
2  In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

So now we know that God cannot lie.  So there is no reason not to put your complete Trust in God.

John 6:35-37
35  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
36  But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
37  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

John 1:14
14  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

It is important to understand that the water of life that Jesus is referring to is the Holy Ghost.  Again, the plan of Salvation still needs to be followed.  It is not enough to just say I believe.

John 3:3-6
3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4  Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

This passage, in which Jesus spoke of a man needs to be born of the water and of the Spirit to enter the Kingdom of God; this water here is referring to being baptized into Jesus’ death, and the Spirit is the receiving the Holy Ghost of which he was referring to the lady at the well that he had water that if you drink you will never thirst again.

It is very important that you follow this plan of Salvation, or you will not enter the Kingdom of God.  If you are unsure as to whether or not you have followed the plan of Salvation correctly, be sure to click on the animated, opening and closing present on our website, and scroll down to the Salvation Links listed under the Salvation Track, and select the link for Salvation Package.  This is three lessons to help you understand the correct plan of Salvation.  These are: Repentance, Water Baptism, and the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Matt 5:6
6  Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

So if you hunger and thirst after righteousness, knowing the God can not lie, you will be filled and that will include the correct plan of Salvation.

Step 3.  Applying

Apply:  1. to put to use, especially for a particular purpose.  2.  to bring into action;

James 1:22-27
22  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

Hear how important it is to apply the Word of God.  You don’t want to be one who hears the word and walks off and forgets what manner of man you are because you are not a doer of the Word, but just a Hearer of the Word.

25  But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26  If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27  Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

So if you are a doer of the Word, you shall be blessed in your actions.  Also notice that Pure religion is to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep yourself unspotted from the world.  This is True and Pure religion.

Matt 7:24-27
24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

So now we have learned that we need to be a Hearer, a Believer, and a Doer of the Word of God, or you are likened unto a foolish man that built your house upon the sand.

Two more things you can do in applying the Word of God to increase your Faith is
Pray for the Gifts of the Spirit and be sure you Pray to hunger and thirst after righteousness that you may be filled.  Since we know that God can not lie, we know that if you hunger and thirst after righteousness that you will be filled.  This is very important to pray for.

The gifts of the Spirit are found in

I Cor 12:4-14
4  Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5  And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8  For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9  To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10  To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11  But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
12  For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
14  For the body is not one member, but many.

Take notice that one of the Gifts, is the gift of Faith.  If your faith is low, this is a great way to see your faith increased.

Romans 8:28
28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

John 5:24
24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Rom 2:13
13  (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

So you don’t want to find yourself only being a hearer of the Word of God, but also a doer.

John 14:15 Jesus tells us something extremely important.
15  If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 15:10
10  If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

So if you do not keep the commandments that God has laid out for us in the Bible, then you do not love God.  See how important it is to apply the Word of God in your life?

Matt 22:36-40
36  Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38  This is the first and great commandment.
39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

This is very important to understand.  Jesus just told us that if you love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and love your neighbor as yourself, then you will have fulfilled the law.  You may be wondering how then.  The answer is if you love God, love your neighbor, you will keep his commandments, then you will gladly hear and receive the plan of Salvation that he has laid out before us, so that you too will have everlasting life.

I John 2:15-18
15  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Hear that.  This is very clear to not love the world or anything in it, otherwise the love of God is not in you.  Are you in love with your money?  Your make-up? Your friends?  The TV set?  Your car?  Yourelf??

16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
18  Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come,

So do you think the questions I mentioned above are not the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life?

II Cor 6:14-18
14  Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

But if you do not come out from among them and be separate, then you are not the sons and daughters of the Lord God Almighty!!!

So we know to increase our faith, we need to Hear, believe, and apply the Word of God.  This takes us to….

Step 4.  Which Brings Suffering

suffer:  to endure pain, to undergo or feel pain or distress, death.
II Tim 2:10-13
10  Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11  It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
12  If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
13  If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

This passage did not tell us that if we have a party or a great walk in the park, that we would reign with Christ, but it said IF WE SUFFER we will reign with Him.

James 5:7-11
7  Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8  Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
9  Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
10  Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11  Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

The prophets and the brethern of the Lord left for us an example of suffering, affliction, and of patience.  Why would you think that you should be any different?  Don’t be deceived that the Lord wants to fill your pockets with cash.  Don’t believe that this is the age of the Christian to reign supreme on Earth.  This life is about suffering.  If you aren’t suffering, then you must be doing something wrong.  But also don’t deceive yourself into believing that suffering for unrighteousness will count for you in the day of Judgement!!

II Cor 1:4-7
4  Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, (WHY) that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
5  For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
6  And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
7  And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

These verses have explained to us very clearly that we are comforted during tribulation, that we may comfort others in there time of trouble.

Rom 8:16-18
16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

If we don’t suffer with Him, or if we suffer without Him, then you will be cast into the Lake of Fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, eternally, where the Worm dieth not!!

Gal 6:7-10
7  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10  As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Heb 2:9-10
9  But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
10  For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

I Pet 4:12-13
12  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Heb 6:8-15
8  But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
9  But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
10  For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
11  And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
12  That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
13  For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
14  Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
15  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Step 5.  And Finally Perfection

Perfect:  1. entirely without any flaws, defects, or shortcomings  2. accurate, exact, or correct in every detail.

James 1:2-7
2  My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3  Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Rom 5:1-5
5:1  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Justified: 1. To demonstrate or prove to be just, right, or valid 2. To declare free of blame; absolve.

2  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4  And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

So our Tribulations and suffering, bring forth patience and experience.  This experience brings forth hope.  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

II Cor 4:13-18; 5:1-7
13  We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14  Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15  For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
16  For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18  While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
5:1  For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2  For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3  If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4  For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5  Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6  Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

So Apostle Paul has told us that they walk by faith, and all that he has suffered is but a light affliction.  Listen to what all Apostle Paul went through in his life.

II Cor 11:23-28
23  Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure (beatings), in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
24  Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

Paul has just told us that he was beat five separate times, thirty-nine times each, suffered in labours, and was put in prison often. He continues saying

25  Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
26  In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
27  In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
28  Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

So I don’t figure very many of us have every went through what Apostle Paul has considered a light affliction.

I Pet 5:10-11
10  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
11  To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

So then, How does one increase their Faith?  By Hearing the Word of God, Believing the Word of God, Applying the Word of God, Which brings forth Suffering, that finally makes us Perfect.

Come Let us Grow Together: Developing a Relationship with Jesus Christ

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. (Eph 5:22)

The foundation of the development of a relationship with Jesus Christ is to Love the Lord with all the heart, mind, soul, and strength.

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. (Eph 5:23)

For you are the Body of Christ and the Body of Christ is the Bride of Christ.  Therefore let us be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live!

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. (Eph 5:24)

For obedience is what the Lord desires from each one of us.  Let us walk even as He walked.  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. (1 Jn 5:3)

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; (Eph 5:25)

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (Rom 5:6) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (Rom 12:1)

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. (Eph 5:26-28)

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. (1 Jn 3:18)

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: (Eph 5:29)

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (Eph 4:15-16)

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. (Eph 5:30)

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. (1 Cor 6:19-20)

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. (Eph 5:31)

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. (1 Cor 6:17)

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. (Eph 5:32)

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. (1 Cor 12:13-14)

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. (Eph 5:33)

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. (1 Cor 11:3)

If we then subject ourselves to the hierarchal headship of God as we were taught and fulfill our roles that have been given unto us as a man and woman, and also as a husband and wife; we will then further develop our relationship with Jesus Christ, because of our obedience unto the Word of God of which He has set forth for us to follow according to whether or not you are a man or a woman and whether or not you are the husband or the wife.

Let us go on unto perfection and Let us fulfill our roles!!
