Your Reasonable Service

Matthew 25:14-19, 24-30
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Question. Are you the profitable servant doing the will of our Father in heaven? Or are you the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness? “For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14)

You must be born again to inherit the kingdom of God it is your reasonable service!

John 3:1-6
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:14-17
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

“God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” However, this did not negate the fact that you were told in the beginning of the chapter “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

It is your reasonable service to find out what this means!

2 Timothy 2:15
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Are you the profitable servant or are you the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness?

Luke 13:1-5
1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

It is your reasonable service to repent of your sins!

Luke 9:23-25
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

It is your reasonable service to take up your cross daily and follow after Jesus the Christ!

Mark 16:15-18
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

It is your reasonable service to go and share the gospel with everybody! It is your reasonable service to baptized as a believer in Jesus the Christ!

Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Are you the profitable servant or are you the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness? It is your reasonable service to be baptized correctly and to teach everybody else to do the same!

Luke 24:45-49
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

It is your reasonable service to understand what the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is! Jesus just said that “that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem”.

Acts 2:1-4
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

It is your reasonable service to understand that the Holy Ghost was the promise of the Father that the disciples were waiting for in the city of Jerusalem!

Acts 2:36-39
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

It is your reasonable service to understand that the correct way to be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost was revealed both by Jesus saying,that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalemand the Apostle Peter and the rest of the Apostles being present understood the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is Jesus the Christ! It is your reasonable service to “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost“!

Are you the profitable servant who will keep the commandments of his Lord or the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness?

John 17:19-20
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

It is your reasonable service to follow after the teaching of Jesus the Christ and that of those “which shall believe on me through their word”!

Ephesians 2:18-22
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

It is your reasonable service to understand that the Holy Spirit is not automatically received just because you believe in Jesus, have faith in Jesus, repented of your sins, and even were baptized in Jesus name for the remission of your sins!

Acts 8:12-17
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Are you the profitable servant or are you the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness? It is your reasonable service to understand the Holy Ghost was not yet given even after the believers with faith in Jesus Christ who “were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” had not yet received the Holy Spirit “For as yet he was fallen upon none of them”! What makes you any different than these believers in Jesus Christ that you are convinced you have received the Holy Spirit some other way? “And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Acts 19:1-6
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

It is your reasonable service to understand that the receiving of the Holy Spirit came after the Apostle Paul laid his hands upon them just like the receiving of the Holy Spirit came after the Apostle Peter and Apostle John laid hands upon the believers “and they received the Holy Ghost”!

Romans 8:9
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

It is your reasonable service to understand that “if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his”! Are you the profitable servant doing the will of our Father in heaven? Or are you the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness?For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14)

C & C: It is a sin not to pray for God’s people!

1 Samuel 12:23
23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

It is a Sin not to Pray for God_s People

How can you love your brothers and sisters in Christ if you don’t even pray for them? How can you love your brothers and sisters in Christ if you don’t forgive them of their trespasses against you?

Colossians 4:12-13
12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
13 For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.

I’ve heard it preached that if you claim to be a “prayer warrior” or a person who just prays for people and not actually witnessing to people then you are not a soul winner. That you are not laboring in the harvest field. However your life is a witness of Jesus Christ if you are truly following after him. You can see that Epaphras was “always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” Clearly praying was labouring in the Harvest. Your works and your fruit will bear you out! You may not have a chance to verbally witness to people you are often around, however they seeing your good works and righteous lifestyle will know that you are different, set apart, and that is a witness of Jesus Christ to them. They may then inquire of you why you are doing what you are doing and the door is open for verbal communication.

It is also of importance to recognize that the phrase “prayer warrior” is something that people have made up to describe those who are actually obeying what the scriptures teach us to do. “Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thess 5:17) This commandment and what you are about to read throughout this lesson will teach you that we are all to be praying! Not just some Christians! But ALL Christians! The phrase “prayer warrior” has it’s place when the call goes forth to the “prayer warriors” to pray over a need. However, it also testifies against every one who does not faithfully pray over the needs of others.

Luke 2:36-37
36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

Again, we see the example of the Godly lifestyle not departing from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. This lesson is to encourage you and to lift you up! Not to condemn you. This lesson is to encourage you to grow closer to the Lord Jesus Christ and to develop a closer relationship with him! Not to condemn you.

2 Thessalonians 3:1-6
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.

It is a sin not to pray for God’s people! Learn from the prayers that the Apostles are praying for the Church and the prayers they were asking for themselves. Do you think the word of the Lord has free course in our world? It doesn’t. Just one example of the many nations where our brothers and sisters are located where the word of the Lord does not have free course is North Korea. There are to many others to list. You can see here that we need to be praying for our missionaries, pastors, teachers, and all saints that they “may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith”.

5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

Acts 12:5, 12-17
5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Your prayers are needed! Your prayers are essential for countless souls and also for your own soul! There is persecution taking place all over our world for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Persecutions like that of imprisonments, fines, beatings, rapings, murders, kidnappers, and many other ungodly practices. The Apostle Peter was freed because of the prayers of the saints and because of that of the will of God as you will see!! “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16b) Your prayers can change God’s mind. “In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying, I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying, Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD. And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake. And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.” (2 Kings 20:1-7)

12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.
13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.
14 And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.
15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

Even with those gathered together in faith praying, yet even when there prayers were answered they doubted that God answered their prayers, but God is faithful!!

16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.
17 But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-25
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
25 Brethren, pray for us.

When you pray if you find yourself struggling with sleep or other weaknesses of the flesh ask God to strengthen and help you. If you stop praying at that point do not condemn yourself. If the Spirit of God convicts you then repent and continue praying!!

Matthew 6:6
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

This verse of scripture isn’t to be taken alone to avoid or condemn corporate prayer as this is also Biblical as you have just seen an example of concerning those praying for the Apostle Peter. However, when you pray it is not to be seen of others for you to self glory in. You have your reward! And what a horrible reward that would be!

Matthew 14:22-23
22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

We absolutely need private prayer time where we are alone. While we pray daily in our private prayer time we need to be open to the Spirit of God and the direction God is leading our prayers. Do your best to make a regular daily private prayer time. Pray according to the time you have set aside for prayer but not quenching the Spirit because the time you set is at hand. The main goal of even setting a prayer time is about disciplining yourself to pray faithfully, daily. The ultimate goal is to pray faithfully, daily without time constraint.

Acts 9:36-41
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

As the Body of Christ we need to pray for the sick and if it be the will of God even to pray that God would raise up someone from the dead.

Matthew 18:19-20
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Acts 1:13-17, 23-26
13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

It is important that along with a faithful, daily prayer life that you not neglect coming together with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to pray together! If your Church doesn’t have a time to come together to pray then you should suggest it to your Pastor. The Church should come together to pray before each service that God would have his way in the service, that souls would be added to the kingdom, and that the Church is subjecting itself to the moving and leading of the Spirit of God and not after traditions of men. Yet still being in subjection to your Pastor as he is the shepherd of God chosen over the flock that God has given to him.

Luke 22:31-32
31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Pray that your brothers and sisters do not fail. Pray that they will grow in Christ. Pray that if they stumble and fall that they remain faithful and repent allowing God to raise them up again. Consider also yourself unless you too fall.

Romans 1:8-12
8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

Pray that your Church would be used in the gifts of the Spirit for the edification of the Body of Christ. Notice the Apostle Paul stresses “that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;”. It is a sin not to pray for God’s people! How can the love of Christ be in you if you don’t have time to pray for his people which is part of your spiritual Body in Christ? If you yet be in the Body of Christ?

1 Corinthians 1:1-7
1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Use the examples given to us of the Apostle’s words in things they desire for the Church to receive for your prayers for the Church.

2 Corinthians 9:7-15
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
12 For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
13 Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;
14 And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

As you go about doing good for the glory of God while seeking the best interest of others over yourself, there abounds many thanksgivings and prayers toward you as they glorify God on your behalf! That the Body of Christ is edified together in it’s love and nourishing of one another and from the nourishment from our God.

Ephesians 1:15-19
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Let us go on to perfection and pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. For all saints! So we know the hope of his calling “And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power”.

Ephesians 3:13-21
13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

What a beautiful prayer! What beautiful words of exhortation! This is where God wants us to be! That we “May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Philippians 1:3-11
3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

If you are struggling on how to pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ you need look no further than at the words and prayers of the Apostles for the Churches and their desire for you which is under the inspiration of the Spirit of God!

Colossians 1:3-14
3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

Read carefully now the prayer that he has for us all as we are the Church the Body of Christ.

9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

1 Thessalonians 1:2-10
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

1 Thessalonians 3:7-13
7 Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
8 For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
9 For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
11 Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.
12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:13-17
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

2 Timothy 1:1-3
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

Let us Work Together

Calling all Christians!! Calling all Christians!!

We are labourers together!!

The Harvest is Ripe

You could say who am I? I am nobody. But don’t stop there. Speak the truth to yourself. Instead say I am nobody in myself, but I am not alone. I am a child of God! I am a child of the King! I walk by faith and not by sight. It’s not by my power, nor by my might, but by the Lord’s Spirit. One man plants another man waters but it is the Lord that brings the increase. Let us work together. Let us labour together for the glory of God. It’s not about me. It’s not about you. But it’s about the Body fulfilling the commandment of God as being his arms. And being his legs. And being the Light on the hill that can not be hid. It’s about being that city that can’t be hid. It’s about being the Salt of the Earth. It’s about reaching out to the lost. It’s about working while it’s still day, because the night comes when no man can work!!

Every little thing helps.

Cultivate it and watch the Lord grow it!! Labour over it in your tears! Labour over it in your love! Labour over it through your prayers!! Labour over it with works with your faith!!

There are ministries that you can get involved with on a much larger scale.

One could buy a church van or a church bus and take care of the cost and maintenance of the vehicle for the glory of God. By taking on this responsibility of the expense, you then bless not only the Church with many souls for the glory of God that you reach out to, but you also relieve the Church from this expense which can then be used elsewhere in the Church for the glory of God. It is this kind of spirit and attitude we need. It is this kind of heart that says, what can I do for the kingdom of God and then prays and fasts about it and waits upon the Lord to give you direction that we need. It is this saint of God that we are looking for each person of the Church of the Living God to become!!

There are no little jobs in the kingdom of God.

We are all the Body of Christ. And if we were all the eye, where would the hearing be. If we were all the ear, then where would the smelling be. We must have this kind of heart and this kind of mind set to be the most successful we can individually be in the kingdom of God. Remember he that is greatest in the kingdom of God, let him be servant of all. We must desire to serve. And we must desire to serve for the right reasons. And we must desire to serve out of an honest and good heart keeping the Word of God and producing fruit with patience over time.

We are in this for life!! We are lifers!! We are not going anywhere!! We are here to stay!! For the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church of whom we are!! We must reach out for the lost with ferocity. We must reach out to the lost with the truth!! We must get knowledgeable in the Word of God, rightly dividing the Word of Truth!!

Let us labour together!! Let us strive together for the mastery of the kingdom of God! Let us go on to perfection!! Let us bind together in the bond of perfectness. Let us be full of Charity for the glory of God!!

In the kingdom of God it doesn’t matter if you are deaf, or if you are blind, or if you are not able to get around very well in this natural body that we have.

But what matters is are you reaching out to the lost in the midst of your trials, tribulations and persecutions. What matters is how can you reach out to the lost despite of your dilemma. How can I overcome my situation and be a blessing to the kingdom of God in reaching out for lost souls is the question?

AND GOD NOT ONLY HAS THE ANSWER, BUT HE IS THE ANSWER!! GOD WILL SUPPLY THE WAY AND HE WILL OPEN THE DOOR!! THE QUESTION IS, WILL YOU PICK UP THE SUPPLIES HE HAS GIVEN TO YOU AND WALK THROUGH THE OPEN DOOR?

Let us be kingdom minded. Let us pick up the weapons of our warfare that God has given to us and let us work together in unity for the glory of God.

Is Christ divided? Nay, but Christ is One Body tempered together with no schism within it. We are labourers of the Lord!! We are the Lord’s husbandmen!! We are the Lord’s building!! But careful how each man builds thereupon for no other foundation can be laid than that which is laid!!

It is not about stepping stones. Nor is it about one foot here and one foot there.

It is about what ever God has allowed of you to do, or whatever God has gifted you to do, or whatever God has called for you to do, to do it with all of your might as unto the Lord!! Let us work together for the glory of God.

If all were the Navy, where would be the Army? If all were the Army? Where would be the Air force? If all were the infantry, where would be the calvary? If all were the calvary, where would be the artillery? And if these units did not work together in unity as for a common goal, where would be the victory?

So it is for the kingdom of God.

We are not units of our own accord and we are not labourers for our own personal goals and agendas. But we are a Body of believers strategically placed throughout the world by the King of kings and we have a common purpose to reach out to the lost as a united force.

Inside of this Body God has called forth Apostles, and he has called forth Prophets, and he has called forth Evangelists, and he has called forth Pastors and he has called forth Teachers. This five fold ministry is the God called, God placed, leaders that are called for “the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (Ephesians 4:12-16)

We have some Generals, we have some Colonels, we have some Lieutenants, we have some Captains, we have some Sergeants, for the perfecting of the soldiers, for the work of the mission, for the benefit of the nation: till we all come in the unity of motion, and of the knowledge of our portion, unto a perfect soldier, unto the measure of the working of every part: from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in harmony.

But none of this is possible if we work alone and not as a unified Body of believers working for the common objective of reaching out for lost and dying souls with the goal being saving them from a devils hell that they might have life and peace both in this world and the world to come.

Luke 13:6-9
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Luke 3:9
9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Luke 8:15
15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

We are the dresser of his vineyard and we must do all that we can do that the tree be not cut down and cast into the fire; but rather by labouring, digging, and dunging the tree that it will then begin to produce fruit. We must do all that we can do to help the tree to become that which is upon the good ground.

Titus 2:11-15
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Jude 1:3-4
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jude 1:22-23
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

2 Timothy 2:23-26
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

We are ambassadors for Christ!!

As such we must be ready to bring forth the plan of salvation, zealous of good works, contending for the faith with meekness of wisdom, saving some with compassion and others with fear, pulling them out of the fire! For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

1 Corinthians 16:13-16
13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
14 Let all your things be done with charity.
15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)
16 That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.

Philippians 2:1-11
1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

John 13:13-17
13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Colossians 3:23-25
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

We are the servants of our Master Jesus Christ!!

If we be servants then we ought to serve with all joyfulness of heart, gladness of heart, and humbleness of heart for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works and happy are we if we do them! Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light and whatsoever we do, let us do it heartily, as to the Lord Christ.

Come let us Grow Together: Why the Christ Child was Born

Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God. The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in things pertaining to God.

Isaiah 9_6-7
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Gen 2:16-17)

Satan had gained the power of death over mankind because of the Law of Sin and Death.

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. (Ezek 18:4)

Mankind was in need of a Savior after the fall of mankind in the garden of Eden.

And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (Gen 3:14-16)

The first prophecy of the coming of the Christ had been given.  This promise was given to the seed of Abraham who would be the father of many nations.

And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. (Gen 17:3-5)

This promise of the seed to come was then given to the Prophet David.

Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; (Acts 2:29-30)

And this is the reason that the Son of God, Jesus Christ the Righteous, was born.

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (1 Jn 3:5, 8)

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
(Heb 2:14-15)

The enmity between the woman’s seed and the serpent’s seed.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Gal 3:16)

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Gal 4:4-7)

Freed from the Law of Sin and Death by the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Rm 8:2)

But for us to partake of this promised seed of Christ, we must be born again of water and of the Spirit.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (Jn 3:3-6)

We partake of being born again of water and of the Spirit by fulfilling the words that the Apostle Peter spoke on the day that the Holy Ghost was first poured out.

Salvation and Baptism

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:36-39)

Now all of this was done that we might have life and that more abundantly.

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (Jn 10:9-10)

C&C: It’s Going to Rain! Get in the Ark!

Connections and Comparisons is an ongoing weekly series that deals with many scriptures in the Bible, some of which are not commonly addressed. The purpose of this series is to examine the scriptures at hand comparing what is said and looking at the connections within.

Genesis 6:13-17
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

Noah's Ark Judgment

Even as God destroyed this earth with water he has promised to destroy this earth with fire! The day of the Lord is coming! Get into the Church before it is to late!

Hebrews 10:24-25
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

That day approaching is the day of the Lord and the assembling of ourselves together is called Church. As this day of the Lord approaches we are told that we are to gather together so much the more! The day of the Lord is coming! Get into the Church before it is to late!

2 Peter 3:3-7
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

2 Peter 3:10-14
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

The “day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” We are told to watch and pray so that day does not take us unawares.

Luke 21:33-36
33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

The day of the Lord is coming! Get into the Church before it is to late!

We are warned “lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.” “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-9
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Again we are told, that the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, and then told that we are “not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.” The day of the Lord is coming! Get into the Church before it is to late!

Matthew 24:42-51
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Watch and pray! For “if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.” “But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of“. However the children of the day will be watching and praying and will escape the day of the Lord’s wrath! “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.” (1 Thessalonians 5:2-5) The day of the Lord is coming! Get into the Church before it is to late!

Genesis 7:13-16
13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;
14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.
15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

The “LORD shut him in.” Noah and his family made themselves ready against the storm that God promised that would come and destroy the earth! It’s time to make yourselves ready against the day of the Lord that God has promised! The day of the Lord is coming! Get into the Church before it is to late!

1 Peter 3:18-22
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

Even as Noah and his family were saved by water “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us”, this same Apostle Peter told us “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:38-39) “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us”! The day of the Lord is coming! Get into the Church before it is to late! Watch and pray after being born again so that day does not take you unawares!

Are you being Taught the Truth??

Matthew 25:1-13
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Even as the days of Noah. God shut the door and it will not open again for you!! “and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”

Matthew 7:21-24
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

The day of the Lord is coming! Get into the Church before it is to late!

BUT GOD

So now it was not you that sent me hither, BUT GOD: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not: (Gen 45:8-9)

Glean Your Field One More Time!

Matthew 9:37-38
37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Glean Your Field One More Time!

Definition of glean: to gather grain left behind by reapers; to collect bit by bit- one piece of grain at a time.

We say Lord send me into your harvest, I am willing to go. The church says send us into the harvest field Lord. But are you willing to glean the fields? Are you willing to get your hands dirty? Are you willing to reach out day by day and bit by bit to gather together the remnant of the harvest fields that the reapers have already worked? Are you willing to get down on your knees in prayer to water the harvest field in search of just one more bit of wheat? Just one more soul of man?

Are you willing to glean your home field one more time? Are you willing to glean what the Church has already reaped, already harvested, and diligently search for the precious grain, to search for the priceless souls of the unsaved humanity?

What is the soul of man worth to you!

Are you willing to die for one lost soul of man? Are you willing to fall down on your face before the Lord and weep for the precious grain yet to be harvested? Will you to also look the other way as did the priest and Levite when they saw the one wounded and dying on the street? Or will you be as the doctor of the good news and get down on the ground and speak life into the dead bones of men? Will you speak unto them and say O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord and live! Ye bones of dead men rise up and walk! Ye bones of dead men rise up in repentance and be water baptized in Jesus name for the remission of your sins!! Ye bones of dead men rise up and become a new creature in Christ Jesus!! Ye bones of dead men rise up in repentance and receive ye the Holy Ghost!! I say unto you dead bones of men live!! Yea, I say unto you dead bones of men live!! I speak unto you dead bones of men the Word of Life!! Hear ye the good news of Jesus Christ and live!!

Preach and teach the good news!

“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. (Romans 5:6-19)

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (Isaiah 53:5-12)

Understandest thou what thou readest?

“Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.” (Acts 8:29-39)

He commanded the chariot to stand still and they both went down into the water and Philip baptized the Eunuch in the only saving name of the Lord Jesus!! “And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” (Acts 22:16)

Church and fellow saint of God? Are you ready to glean your fields one more time? Are you like as Ruth and ready to get down on your knees in prayers and begin gleaning your towns, cities, and suburbs again!! Are you ready to reach your city, your county, your country, and your world? “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” (Titus 2:13-14) There is no greater work you can do for the Lord but to labour in the harvest fields for the souls of men!!!

Are you a gleaner!! Are you searching for the precious wheat? Are you laboring and toiling with your hands searching the land piece by piece and bit by bit!!

We all know the story of Naomi, how that in Bethelehem-judah there was a famine in the land and Naomi’s husband took her and their two sons and went into the country of Moab and dwelt there. And in time Naomi’s husband died, and her two sons took them wives of Moab. The one wife was named Orpah and the other Ruth.

And as time passed Naomi’s two sons also died and left no children. Then Naomi heard that the Lord had visited his people Israel in giving them bread. Therefore Noami desired to return to Bethlehem-Judah and told her two daughter-in-laws to each return to her mothers house. Orpah eventually did return to her people. But Ruth clave unto Naomi and returned to Israel with her.

“And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her. So they two went until they came to Bethlehem. And it came to pass, when they were come to Bethlehem, that all the city was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi? And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me. I went out full, and the Lord hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the Lord hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me? So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest.” (Ruth 1:16-22)

Ruth’s great proclamation! “Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.”

Are you a Ruth!! Are you a gleaner of the fields!! Are you ready to go find the lost souls of men!! Are you ready to glean your field one more time!! Ruth was a gleaner!!!

And Ruth came and gleaned in the field after the reapers. Ruth was the one to get down in the dirt to gather just a few handfuls of grain after a long day in the field under the hot sun to provide bread for her and her mother-in-law, Naomi. Are you willing to work the heat of the day in the Lord’s harvest field and glean the lost souls of men bit by bit and piece by piece!! Are you willing to glean your field one more time!!

“And Naomi said unto Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field. So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to glean unto the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelt with her mother in law.” (Ruth 2:22-23)

Gleaning is hard back breaking work!! Most people will not glean!! Gleaning requires patience, diligence, and a heart for lost souls!!

It’s time to first break up your fallow ground!

Hosea 10:12-13
12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
13 Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.

But now it’s time to trust in God and gather together the precious souls of men grain by grain and piece by piece!

God rewarded Ruth for her devotion to her mother-in-law Naomi by giving her favor in the site of Boaz who owned the field where she gleaned and Boaz took Ruth for his wife, and God will reward his wife the Church for our labouring and gleaning of the harvest fields!!

Church are we willing to go back into the harvested fields of our town, our city, and surrounding areas and glean the few precious souls that were missed and overlooked? Are we willing to use technological advances of our modern world to reach out to the world through the internet!! Are we willing to glean the outcasts, the down and out, those the other denominal churches spurn!! The poor of our city!! Those filthy with the sins of this world!! Those battling drug and alcohol addictions!!

“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” (Jude 20-23)

These souls are already on there way to hell!! Their clothes have caught on fire from the flames of hell!! And their flesh is starting to burn!!

Are these twice dead, plucked up by the roots? How do you know if you will not glean your field once again!! Do not be as the self righteous!! To good to help the man in the ditch!!

Let us not be the Pharisee who went up into the temple and begin saying, I thank God I am not like this publican, and God have to humble us because of our pride. These are they of whom are
not willing to get their hands dirty to save a precious soul!!

All Souls are precious to Jesus!! And Jesus died for us all!!

Jesus is saying, Church go out to your friends, your neighbors, your city, witness, testify, give home bible studies, compel them come in, to save themselves, from the Holy Wrath of God which is soon to come when God will pour out his wrath upon the ungodly, the wicked, the unbeliever!!

The Good Shepherd will leave the ninety-nine sheep and seek for the one lost sheep! And upon recovering the one lost sheep he will rejoice with all!! Jesus died for that one lost soul!! If we desire to win souls, it will take gleaning the field again!! It will take effort, it will take prayer, it will take patience, and it will take work!!

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Church, let’s glean our fields one more time!! Church, let’s follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and be a gleaner of the souls of men!!
