Daily Devotional – Made Known to all Nations for the Obedience of Faith

“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.” (Rm 16:25-27)

Did you know the gospel was “made known to all nations for the obedience of faith”? What does it mean to have obedient faith? “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Eph 2:8-9) Is quoting this verse having obedient faith? This tells you how you are saved but it isn’t the only verse of scripture that speaks on how you are saved? “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” (Titus 3:5) Both of these passages of scriptures should be applied. You have grace, faith, washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost mentioned here. What does it mean to have obedient faith? If you are saved by grace through faith what does that mean? The grace of God teaches us something of which we are to apply. “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” (Titus 2:11-12) You can’t be saved by grace if you don’t apply what grace teaches you. “For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.” (Gal 5:6) Obedient faith requires action on your part of which we have now seen through the scriptures that you must apply faith which works by love. To love also requires action on your part. “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” (1 Jn 3:18) Faith also requires action on your part. “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?” (James 2:20-22) Obedient faith requires that you apply faith with works to be made complete. This faith operates by love which requires you to apply the gospel of which the Apostle Paul said was “made known to all nations for the obedience of faith”. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (Jn 14:15) Again showing faith with works or obedient faith to be saved. Grace taught you what to do again showing obedient faith. Faith working by love showing obedient faith. Also “according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost”. (Titus 3:5) What does that mean? It is saying you were saved by water baptism in Jesus name and regeneration meaning spiritual renovation and renewing of the Holy Ghost is speaking of when you receive the Holy Ghost it is evidenced with the speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. (Acts 2:1-4) So to renew the Holy Ghost it is by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. Therefore the gospel that was made known to all nations for obedient faith is speaking of how you are born again of water and of the Spirit (Jn 3:5) which is fulfilled by applying what the Apostle Peter taught “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38) The Apostle Paul teaching the same. “Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.” (Acts 19:4-6)

Daily Devotional – For He is our Peace

“For he is our PEACE, who hath made both ONE, and hath BROKEN down the MIDDLE WALL of PARTITION between US; Having ABOLISHED in his FLESH the ENMITY, even the LAW of COMMANDMENTS contained in ORDINANCES; for to make in HIMSELF of twain ONE new man, so making PEACE; And that he might reconcile BOTH unto God in ONE body by the CROSS, having SLAIN the ENMITY thereby:” (Eph 2:14-16)

Were you aware that Jesus Christ is the end of the law to all those who believe? “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” (Rm 10:4) “But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:” (Rm 3:21-22) “Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;” (Mt 27:50-51) “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” (Heb 10:19-23)

Daily Devotional – Whom shall he Make to Understand Doctrine

“Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:” (Isa 28:9-10)

This is how the entire Bible is set up for gaining knowledge and doctrinal understanding and is therefore essential that you pray and ask God for doctrinal knowledge and understanding. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Tim 2:15) You will need to not only pray and ask God for help but you must also study to show yourself approved unto God. Doctrine is essential for you to know and understand so that you can grow by it. This is what you need so that you know whether or not what you are being taught is accurate and correct. “And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.” (Acts 17:10-12)

Daily Devotional – God was Manifest in the Flesh

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. (1 Tim 3:16) “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” (Jn 8:24)

Who was manifested in the flesh? God was. This topic has been a topic of debate since Jesus was born. However, it was just answered right there. God was. Not God the Son was. God was. Who was born of the virgin Mary? God was. We just read it in the verse above. “God was manifest in the flesh”. If you say yea but what about this verse… insert whatever verse on this topic you desire, but for instance this one “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Mt 1:23) Who was with us according to scripture and not traditions of men? God was. Not God the Son. Please don’t misunderstand me. Jesus was fully man and God at the same time. However, it was God in Christ not God the Son. How do I know. The Bible has already said so in the two verses I used already. “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” (2 Cor 5:19) Who was in Christ? God was. See the Bible is right it is man that has come up with the trinity. It is those who have learned of the trinity that have been taught to associate a scripture more with God the Father, or God the Son, or God the Holy Spirit. However, the Bible plainly teaches us it was God alone. There is a Son of God but not a God the Son. There is the Spirit of God because God is a Spirit (Jn 4:24) but not a God the Holy Spirit. This is all man made. From the beginning of the Bible to the end of the Bible we are taught that our God is one. The doctrine of appropriation that the trinitarian’s use is just a way to try to associate an attribute to one of the three persons of the trinity that they feel more closely aligns to what they have made up concerning God while denying the scriptures that continually teach us that it was God with us.

Daily Devotional – By which also ye are Saved

“Moreover, brethren, I DECLARE unto you the GOSPEL which I PREACHED unto you, which also ye have RECEIVED, and wherein ye STAND; By which also ye are SAVED, if ye keep in MEMORY what I PREACHED unto you, unless ye have BELIEVED in VAIN. For I delivered unto you FIRST of all that which I also RECEIVED, how that CHRIST DIED for OUR SINS according to the SCRIPTURES; And that he was BURIED, and that he ROSE again the THIRD DAY according to the SCRIPTURES:” (1 Cor 15:1-4)

What is the gospel message that Jesus Christ preached to the people? “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (Jn 3:5) “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Lk 13:3) “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;” (Mk 16:16-17) “And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” (Lk 24:46-49) His Apostles obeyed him and went to Jerusalem and received the Holy Ghost as promised. “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:4) Then when asked what must be done to be saved the Apostles answered exactly what Jesus had preached. “Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:37-39)

Daily Devotional – Let us make Man in our Image after our likeness

“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.” (1 Cor 15:45-47)

Did you know the last Adam, Jesus Christ, was the image the first Adam was made in and that this is the “us” that is referred to in Genesis 1:26a saying, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”? God works all things after the counsel of his own will. Thus the “us” of Genesis of whom God was speaking was his own self. But in the mind of God or the Word of God he was speaking of the image and likeness of his own self that man would be made in the image of. “God is a Spirit” (Jn 4:24a) and the image of which God was referring was the image of the man Christ Jesus.

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:” (Col 1:14-15) “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (2 Cor 4:4) “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:” (Heb 1:3) “Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” (Rm 5:14)

Daily Devotional – The Seed of Abraham

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Who are the seed of Abraham? “Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.” (Rm 9:6-9) Who are the children of promise? “For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.” (Gal 4:22-23) “Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.” (Gal 4:28) How can you become part of the children of promise? “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.” (Gal 3:16) “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:38-39)

Daily Devotional – God is the LORD, which hath Showed us Light

God is the LORD, which hath showed us light: BIND THE SACRIFICE with cords, even unto the HORNS of the ALTAR. Thou art my God, and I WILL PRAISE thee: thou art my God, I WILL EXALT thee. O give THANKS unto the LORD; for he is GOOD: for his MERCY endureth FOR EVER.

Under the Old Testament the children of Israel’s sins were covered by an animal sacrifice and once a year rolled ahead on the day of Atonement. All Israel was waiting for the time the prophets prophesied of. The coming of a Messiah that would bring forth restoration, reconciliation, reformation, through the remission of sins.

“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (Jn 1:29) “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Heb 9:11-14)

Daily Devotional – The Consolation of Israel

“And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,” (Lk 2:25-30)

Did you know that Jesus was born under the law and partook of the law? Jesus came to redeem us from the curse of the law. “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” (Gal 4:4-5) “But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (Gal 3:11-14) “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Rm 8:1-4)

Daily Devotional – Born this day in the city of David the Saviour

“For unto you is BORN this day in the city of David a SAVIOUR, which is CHRIST the LORD. And this shall be a SIGN unto you; Ye shall find the BABE wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a MANGER. And suddenly there was with the ANGEL a multitude of the HEAVENLY HOST PRAISING GOD, and saying, GLORY to God in the HIGHEST, and on earth PEACE, GOOD WILL toward MEN.” (Lk 2:11-14)

Who was born this day in the city of David that was the Saviour? “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.” (Isa 43:11) “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isa 7:14) “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Mt 1:21-23) “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isa 9:6) “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Cor 5:19-21)
